If you are recovering from a torn Achilles, you need to GET IN THE POOL! I have added pool therapy to my workout regimen and it has been very beneficial for me. The pool reduces your body weight and allows you to do workouts underwater with a full range of motion on your surgically repaired tendon. Be sure to subscribe as I will be tracking my entire recovery process back to full health.

Bro, thanks for this, I am a little over 3 weeks post op. from Achilles ruprue, and aready weight bearing, can get around without crutches but more confortable with one crutch. i Tore my ACL back in 2010 in my opposite leg, and came back quicly and stronger. This Achilles rupture has been tough, but I remain encouraged when I see all the people psot about their journeys.

Thanks for sharing your journey. I am 1 week post-op Achilles rupture and came across your video. I plan to implement this in my rehab as soon possible with approval from my PT. I hope you’ve made full recovery. Stay blessed.

Thanks for this man.Doctor had me do these in the office today and I couldn’t. I was Shocked. I had no idea it was that weak. He did suggest a pool. I only had a partial tear, n gastroc Cutting in the calf muscle. Ut 4 weeks and I guess I had bigger expectations than I should. Thanks again for the video.

I am 1week out of my post op. I just came across your video i’ve been searching for videos since this happened about two weeks ago just looking for the motivation that you have given me in this video that I can’t get back to performing on a basketball court at what I will call a decent standard I appreciate the video that you share your journey and I’ll say once this cast comes off and the therapy gets started I’ll be back

🤯 Thanks for this tip! I'm 6 months out, with the goal of dunking again in another 6 months. I wish my PT mentioned this before, luckily I see them today, with this fresh on my mind.

Thanks for sharing! It was good seeing excercises to do in the pool. I definitely need to go. There’s days where my achilles is aching from hitting rehab hard. This pool work would really help take stress off it but still get quality work in.

I just happened watch your journey. Very motivational. Keep up the good work. I thought I had something similar but my MRI says otherwise. Do you have any sorts of aches or pain you feel you will be dealing for awhile or do you feel it slowly fading away?

Thanks man and I feel like most of my issues are slowly fading away. I get really sore after a workout and I have some numbness but other than that, I feel pretty good!

I'm at 7 months now and still can't do a calf raise. Doctor mentioned today about going back in and shortening it. I'm giving it a couple more months.

Hey Jay, I’m 8 weeks post op and have been walking everywhere with the boot with no wedges. My next step is to transition out of the boot. I can only go to neutral so it feels pretty tight. Also, my Achilles feels tight every morning and have to stretch it back to neutral, did the tightness ever go away for you?

I am 6 months post op. Just now getting to the gym. Heel raises are still very difficult for me. My ankle is still tight. I definitely need to get in a pool. This ankle and heel are still sore and tight

What if I'm able to do the workouts outside the pool but they still cause flaring sometimes? Should I still consider the pool? I'm dealing with insertional Achilles tendinitis for about 6 months now and still in pain
@AchillesRuptureRecoveryJourney

I would say so! You can get a good work out without the toll on your body.

@@AchillesRuptureRecoveryJourney let me ask you something, do you think we are capable of doing MORE than what our Achilles feels? Like when my Achilles flares, I always stop and just rest it before I attempt another workout or stretch. Do you think that's why I haven't improved? What did you do in that situation?
@AchillesRuptureRecoveryJourney
@AchillesRuptureRecoveryJourney 2 жыл бұрын
@@abualzuaree that’s hard to say man. I do the same as you but my physical therapists constantly remind me that it’s a marathon and not a sprint. Like you, I pull back whenever I feel something but most of the time it’s something else and not the actual Achilles with me. I would say that everyone is different and only you know your body. I would listen to your body as well as your doctors/trainers.
