I totally agree with this review, I purchased one 3 weeks ago for my wife and after a 70 mile trip my back was killing me to the point I couldn't function for a few days. I have had back surgery in the past and the pain I was feeling was close to the way I felt post op. If I could change one thing about this car its to make the seat more comfortable and do a better job with the fit and finish of the body and paint. At $80k after the upgrades you expect more quality than what you get. That being said I purchased it for my wife so she wouldn't have to ever stop for gas when visiting the grandkids and from what I've read brake downs other that flat tires are rare.

Like my mom has a 2016 Mercedes-Benz W205 C300, and those seats feel like literal STONES compared to our 2002 C208 CLK430! I know you know firsthand how great those CLK's seats feel... That glitch where the screen goes black, that's a known issue with the flash memory chip having too many read/writes and needs to be replaced. At some point it will brick the entire car, so sooner rather than later to have that chip replaced (from what I've seen/read). It logs all the details for the car and like all flash memory has a finite number of read/writes before it goes wonky.

Most of them are very subtle. More comfortable seats, a center console, updated headlights and nose. Most of the new ones are also dual motor, which is a little more efficient, and gets you slightly better range, along with AWD. The basic car is still the same, which is actually nice. V - That is such a load of horseshit. There is not "plenty of stories of Tesla owners being completely denied service". The only owners that have been denied service are people who rebuilt totaled Tesla's and refused to have Tesla make sure that car was safe to drive and operate. "rendering the car useless since you can't even charge it anywhere but at home at that point either.." That may be one of the most ignorant statements ever made on here. Not only does every single L2 charger still work for it, but any fast charger with a Chademo connector can be used to charge a Model S or X with a simple adapter. And pretty much every single fast charging station in the country has both CCS and Chademo today. So, that statement is literally completely false.

Hoovies Garage Great point about DIY, independent auto repair, etc. It makes Tesla look bad too. Time will tend to 'auto-correct' as third party parts will be built and independent shops/expertise will develop for these cars too, no? ((that gives me an idea--opportunity? "One man's problem is another's opportunity" I was taught as a child, lol)) GOT MY SUB.
@jwenting
@jwenting 4 жыл бұрын
yes, Tesla "autocorrects" you when you use a third party shop for maintenance. They do so by disabling your car's fast charging functionality, autopilot, and who knows what as punishment for your lack of paying tribute to the Church of Musk.

@redbaron6805

In all fairness, most of the door handle issues on early Tesla's was they lost the touch sensitivity, not that the door handle or the motor failed. That present when touched function was controlled by a micro switch which apparently had early failure rates. The micro switch is only a few bucks, and can easily be replaced by any competent mechanic, especially with a mechanic like the Wizard he uses to work on his cars.

There was a man in Iceland that had a Tesla Model S in the early years. He had a broken front windshield on his car. He had to ship the car to the States to put in a new one. It cost 15.000$ in total. Love your channel by the way, cheers from Iceland which is going to win the WC.

Hmmm.... I know the windshield is special, but I would figure the installation would be pretty standard, and any shop that replaces car windshields could install it. I don't think using an unauthorized installer would cause any issues or void any warranties.

J.P. Ignelzi please for gods sake don't do that, tesla does not deserve to be in business and it's surprising they still are Questionable build quality panels being sent by the mfg to machine shops off the production line and their financial future does not look good. I could understand with previous companies such as say Delorean given, as even big companies quality wasn't great and it was 1980. Also their ability to disable features at will, check out ones that were re inspected by their respective states to come off salvage. They monitor virtually all functions as mentioned. Transport from makers such as tucker and Delorean where the government was all over funding finances quality etc. Now it's 2018 and they're "green" so these things get glanced over, nothing to see here look at all the nifty gadgets.
