I bought a ‘94 Z28 around a year ago and I gotta say I’ve enjoyed your 4th gen Camaro vids. It’s been a great resource for info on what I’ve been doing to mine. I’m currently doing the rear suspension stuff. Can’t wait to see see how your new one pans out!

How about just a lube job on the window regulators to revive the window action? How about a "bead" of urethane to fix the cracked dash? There are kits that even allow you to replicate the texture of the plastic with little stamp like things...Suggestions. IMO looks better than a carpet dash! LOL

I bought a used black 94 Z28 with 14k miles when it was just a year old, that car was like brand new. Garage kept, I never used it as an everyday car. When I eventually sold it a few years later it still had less than 30k miles on it and was in the same condition as when I bought it, I remember opening the garage to show it to the girl who came by herself and eventually became the next owner didn't even wanna test drive it before she bought it. She lucked out because of how nice that car was, I don't recommend anyone doing that but I'm a 100% sure that car had no issues whatsoever.

When I was in High School in the late 90's my first car was an '84 Camaro, it was pretty cool but I wanted a 4th Gen with the LT1 SOOO BAD. I remember some college kids in the area had Newer Camaro's and I was so jealous! This was circa 1998-2000 so those cars were super fast for the time, I used to watch them race on the weekends and always loved the sounds of the LT1's and LS1's.

Definitely looks good underneath…the fender jacking is a pet peeve and I actually have to do that on one side of my New Edge..I can say that my car may be the first car I ever bought that had almost nothing wrong with it at all and actually many new parts and upgrades that I didn’t notice and the dealer didn’t know or mention..I paid 8k when the market was low 2years ago so I paid all the money for it, but I definitely got what I paid for and then some looking back…

My ‘94 Z28 is my first car. Definitely a project car with repairs in the floor pan, doors that were partially sawed off to get to the gears, the most annoying stuff though is trying to fix the engine codes. I am at a loss of how to fix my engine light not even flashing. Just also got a check gauges indicator too. Already messed with the fuses no issues there, no issues in wiring to my ECM since it does go into diagnostic mode. I have a Haynes manual but it’s not easy to read through.

Just bought one of these! (94 Z28 w/100k miles). Any tips for what could be causing a pretty overwhelming gas/exhaust smell in the car? Engine seems to run smoothly, at idle RPMs dip a bit randomly, but I’m thinking it’s probably not a fuel leak. Didn’t know if anyone here knows of a typical issue with these that could be causing it. Any help is appreciated, Thanks!

My Son just bought a 94 Z28 t-top black on black with 87K miles. Lucky find. It's been sitting in a warehouse for 2 years. We have to do some maintenance before we start it up. Going to drop the tank and get all the old gas out and blow out the fuel line and probably replace the fuel pump. It's a light project car.

The problem where it runs after you shut it off is called dieseling. It has something to do with the fuel still feeding even after spark is off. Im sure there is a guide somewhere which diagnoses it. I took that from my Chilton manual

The engine idling for a second or two after shutting it off is called dieseling. Is your car running rich? Probably fuel burning off like carbon build up. More than likely you need different set of plugs. Your LT1 probably has a hotter plug than it should. After installing the correct AC Delco plugs I would run that gas tank as low as possible, drain it out through the line so you change the fuel filter, and fill up with 93 octane. The owner's manual for LT1's even says 91 octane or higher. The previous owner probably installed cheap plugs or just never did, and he has probably ran cheap 87 octane fuel in the ole girl. I'd look forward to seeing the updates. Edit: If you're referring to the air sucking/vaccum sound after shut off that is the a.i.r pump. P.S. BEWARE if you're doing the plugs on the LT1 in a 4th gen.... beware... be very aware the passenger side spark plugs..... cylinder #8 and #6 can be reached underneath with clever maneuvering and lots of patients.... but cylinder #4 and #2 are even more frustrating.

Not bad for $3K, but that's of course just the start. I'm new to "vintage" sports cars, just picked up an 88' Supra NA auto last year for $8K, It's in pretty fantastic shape, but obviously the price is high for a non-turbo. Bill was $4,100 from the shop to convert AC/change belt/Master Cylinder/and fluids. The quality of electronics and interior is obviously a stark contrast between a bare-bones GM product and Toyota's nicest car, but even then the MK3 Supra has a ton of weird ass electrical issues. I actually considered the exact Z28 you have now in black before the Supra. My dad said his was a ticket getter and it felt hilarious to drive in the speed limit because it's barely trying.
