2015 with 285k miles. Not one failure or breakdown. I couldnt be happier and sure hope my next one is as reliable.

The 4th Gens were the last of the good Cummins/Rams. Just stay away from recall 67A unless you want More EGR dumped in your motor and burn waaaay more DEF. The 4th gens up to year 2017 easy to tune.

My wrangler did that. It was the front axle cv joint. I upgraded to Adams driveshafts with better joints. Problem fixed.

Good recommendations We live in Hawaii, and our grid heater really doesn't work as hard as cold weather states. But we changed to a Banks high ram set up. Oh, our grid heater was still tight, and the nut was still in tack, but I don't have the funds to buy a replacement engine. The Banks high ram was just in case purchase

I would suggest you look at the front axle U-JOINTS for the ticking issuewhich would come into play in 4 wheel drive, as that is where you would be putting higher loads on the joints.

Hey Nathan @tfl that noise that your hearing is a worn hub! Bwhen they go out they tend to have a tick noise when they are going out! It wouldn't be an issue with the differential because if it was youd see it in the driveshaft, the broken differential would bounce and jerk off it was broken! Id check out the hubs first

It's the double cardon joint on the front shaft I'm sure. If you put it up on your drive on lift with the wheels in the air and stick it in 4wd and run it. You'll be able to pin point the exact location.

Rams even in stock form have pretty weak front end 4x4 components. We were always changing out front yokes, u-joints, and driveshafts out in the oilfields

The reason no one can tell a difference after the recall, there is none. All it does is recalibrate your DEF Level gauge. You will now go through more Def fluid because now the truck won't run right if you run out. That's all it does

There are no CV joints on a solid axle truck, not sure why others are suggesting that. There are only u_joints and axles and drive shafts. I do agree with another post that putting on a lift and inspecting all components would be a first step to identifying the noise.

Worked at independent shops and at the Chrysler dealerships. These ram trucks held up great for customers, not uncommon to see them with 400k plus miles. In California if you see guys towing commercial 80% of them are using rams. Plus these trucks are easier to repair then ford or Chevys options.

The 3500 has the option of the high output and Ford now does the same thing with two diesel options except you can get a HO engine in a 2500 which Ram doesn't offer.

I know a guy that took his brand new Dodge to a shop in Texas and pulled the tranny out and had him build it with all the new performance parts with shift and all billet shafts and it was like 6K to get this all done and the truck has over 200K on the clock and zero problems and it shifts so slick and the guy that built it told him to drive 25 -50 miles and bring it back and they checked everything and they drained the trans fluid and filled it back up with me filter so they could check for metal in filter but it was money well spent and he tows a lot and heavy on long trips that’s why he has so many miles on it and does for work .

Beautiful truck. Ram has best enitial reviews says lots. I have a 2014 2500 6.7 slt mega cab. Over 200,000 miles runs oil field rough gravel all the time. Very few problems. Average 23 mpg highway off road. Bought new.

Sound up front sounds similar to a worn u joint. And often times when they are first wearing they only make noise at certain times. With that said if it’s only during turns the tire may be rubbing on the locating arm right behind the tire

I have largely similar 22 2500 Cummins with 37" KM3 and Carli Commuter and I love my truck. Tows my 8000 lb travel trailer to up and down mountain passes to Moab with ease and then off roads when we get there with ease as well. The transmission is not great but it works ok and the exhaust break is so good that it will actually slow me down on 6% grades going 65 so instead of break applications, I need gas applications if cruise control isn't on.

The drive line angle is too steep. It needs a double CV style front drive line. The Ram's drive shaft at stock ride height is near its limit. Once you lift the truck, you will hear it.

I have a 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie with the ram boxes and multifunction tailgate, short bed, e-torque. I just hit 93,600 miles! Truck has been amazing! mild off-road action and 90+ mph when I drive (I have a lead foot) I also drive it like a go-kart. handles turns, in-and-out of traffic. No mechanical or electrical issues.

I think the difference between Alex's truck and TFL's truck is more the usage than quality contrôle, diesels like to be worked(expecialy with dpf and scr), if you just start it to go 5 miles to the grocery store it does not have the time to properly warm up and the "anti-pollution" system does not have the time to clean itself Another reason that most people that want a hd truck but will make it work rarely should buy a gas instead of a diesel

Had the same clicking issue on my F150. Turned out to be leaking vacuum for the automatic hubs. Had to change a small vacuum solenoid on the firewall.

The 19 up trucks will not be impacted by the latest recall. In 2020 Ram released a recall for 19 and early build 20 trucks for this, it was the VB6 recall. All trucks made after this had the latest programming, your 22 is already updated... Drive and enjoy.

‘12 Ram 2500 was making noises like that when I turned while in 4WD. Replaced front drive shaft and shortly after replaced the wheel hubs and u joints which were serviceable but hadn’t been serviced and were dry. 😮.

Ram has always built a great truck. Keep in mind Kore Racing would drive a Cummins power ram 2500 to the Baja 1000 race and be very competitive in its class and then drive the truck home. When i worked for Donhoe Racing the ford f250 was trailer to the race and struggled to finish with out having some sort of power train failure.

Banks intake prevents major problem with a bolt failing & dropping into the engine after getting hot cold hot cold etc early in the trucks life i understand you dont like engine mods but id research it & consider it banks is likely the most reputable aftermarket especially for diesels

RAM mirrors are the worst out of all 3 brands. theyre physically smaller in width and height in the towing position , you have to majorly re adjust them every time you flip them. which means getting out (sometimes multiple times) to manually adjust the fish eye on the passenger side. I've quite literally ordered some 2014-2020 GM conversion mirrors for my RAM 3500. its bugged me to the point where the couple hundred bucks for the conversion is worth it to me.

Nice video and I’m sure you’ll find a buyer. Probably would have been easier selling it 6 months ago. But, still, pretty unique truck. I just wish Ram would take the 1500 cab and use it on the HD model. The crew can on the HD is too small and the MegaCab is too big, well not too big but to be the rear door and window should be bigger and the rear pillar smaller.

18 6.7 2500 Laramie with 155k. 4th exhaust manifold just blew its gasket(s) even with the BD 2 part manifold. Only issue I've had continuously and it's starting to piss me off. 2nd Gen conversion? Thoughts? Otherwise love my truck and plan on having it forever.

I have a 2006 dodge 3/4 ton only problem was the transmissions. Shifting in and out at wrong timing. One set of injectors and 278, 000 miles would not have another lifetime oil changes are one of the keys. Also alot of freeway miles.

01.5 Cummins and 04.5 Cummins still run strong. Brother has constant issues on his GMC Duramax trucks. I had nothing but issues out if my GM trucks. Done with them. Toyota or Dodge have given me excellent service

I factory ordered 2017 similar and have loved it. Only mod was leveling kit and 35's. Only repair was the known break abs issue a year ago that was 1200. I pull a trailer with tractor & attachments. Pulls loaded same as empty. Religious maintenence will get you 600k on engine. Told my boys they get to fight for it when I'm gone. BTW love my donkey ears (mirrors) yo can see

Diesel trucks are not good off road driving trucks the front end of these trucks are so heavy and the lighter the truck is the better the do off roading and I had a new 1973 keep CJ with a 405 v 8 and it was a beast and really was bad ass when we put a650 Holey on it and you could pull the front end off the ground about a foot. But nothing could keep up with that keep off road and snow and it had locking hubs and manual lockers front and rear .

I have never heat of a hot shot rig that had a problem with exhaust treatment on these trucks because they run 500 miles each day so that’s goes to show you that these diesels have to get it up to Temp and work that motor and these trucks are not good to drive 5 miles trips so if you bought a diesel because they are cool and I would say that most of these are not work trucks and that’s why they have all these problems with exhaust treatment problems.

I'm very happy with my 2021 w/ 6.4 Hemi at 36k mi so far. I use it to haul a four wheel camper full-time and it is very balanced. I like the size of Ram's HD, Ford's and GM's are too big.

I have a '21 Power Wagon with the 75th Anniversary package. Only 20k miles on it and working on trading it for a new truck because the CDJR service experience is the absolute WORST!!! I've taken my Ram to SEVEN different dealers in the Houston area and they all suck. They play games to keep you truck on their lot for as long as possible even though the issues don't involve the drivetrain. My PW has sat on dealers lots for more than SIX MONTHS in the first 3 years of ownership (bought it new). This is unacceptable. I only received a rental once even though all of my visits were warranty issues. Never again!

Wouldn't you put a bar on the back side of the muffler, and not the front? Why not just cut the muffler about 7 inches? I just had colon cancer, and the surgeon cut out 7 inches of sigmoid colon, a sigmoid colectomy, and I feel 1000X better. LOL Cut the exhaust pipe far away from the tire.

I am having the big HD debate between the big 3. Any reason you went with the lower HP and lower torque of the Ram? I am looking at a Ram today with a significant mark down, and wondered if I would notice the lower hp and torque compared to my old 19 F350 dually that pulled my boat with the greatest of ease. Was so fast and powerful "like nothing was behind me". Wondering if I will feel the same with the Ram. Thanks guys.

Reliability and can fix it in your driveway a lot of times! The Ford has CP4 pump which is junk. The Duramax is nice but does have a lot of emissions problems and the crankshaft pin can break.

1. Ford has twice as many recalls than any other mfr. Yes they have a 10-speed transmission but that is the cause of most of the Ford recalls 2. Every vehicle has recalls 3. Cummins engines are known for being durable, and that is why the majority of hot shot drivers use RAM trucks 4. I have 37s on my RAM 2500 just like the TFL RAM 2500. As per the dealer, if you get a flat, you can not use the stock spare. It will mess up the speed sensors. You need a 37 inch spare 5. I know this is counter to what TFL does, but you guys should keep that RAM 2500 and see how many miles you can put on it. The new RAMS or GMC / Ford models are way more expensive than that one. Just keep it. It works so why get rid of it? 6. TFL is awesome.

They kept it because it works. That's what a truck is for. RAM is by far the best work truck, best engines, and by far the best upscale interiors. Terrible base gray interiors though.

My RAM 4x4 Cummins powered MegaCab lasted 3-months (trans’ failed), then went back to RAM under Texas Lemon Law. I won’t buy another RAM or Ford…
