I know some guys will say this isn’t a “budget” build and while it’s not cheap, this is obviously more cost efficient to get top of the line in the parts of the truck that matter to the owner, but not paying for the stuff they don’t care about. But, the difference is that instead of buying an upper trim and ripping stuff off later, you can add as you go. I’m sure we’d all like to do this out the gate, but it’s not always feasible. Very cool set up, and a lot like I would spec out if I were to do it myself. Vinyl floors and seats are the way to go and it’s a shame you can’t get them on all models as an option

@CJCOffRoad2 жыл бұрын
It isn't possible. Axle re-location on these trucks means that you need to reduce upward and downward wheel travel to prevent contact within the suspension, so unless you want to run large bump stop drops and stock coils to limit travel like AEV, it isn't happening. The better path is to simply run AEV flares, and then trim as needed on the firewall etc to clear 40s on a Carli/Thuren system.

I really wish you guys would do a full non-Cummins 2500 build video. You and companies like you are fixated on diesels in IMHO I would really like to do something with my 2014 HD 5.7 Hemi powered Outdoorsman but there is a dearth of info for non-diesel HD Rams. The 5.7 would probably be a better fit for off road optimization compared to an overweight Cummins.

We've done plenty! We truly prefer the Cummins platform though. Power is better and more importantly, fuel economy and range is better. We just did Mojave road and our Hemi Power Wagon barely made the trip. The Cummins trucks still had a half tank of fuel at the end. With a properly set up suspension system, the weight difference isn't really noticeable, so there's really no benefit to the Hemi aside from lower initial cost. Again, it's all personal preference though, and we offer this system set up for Hemi trucks too if that's your cup of tea.

You’re the one dumb enough to buy a 3/4 ton with a 5.7 hemi, don’t get mad at them. Nobody wants that junk.

@@kanehorath7222 Who's mad? Well maybe I keep within my budget and my lane. Maybe thats where you should f'n stay.
@kanehorath72222 жыл бұрын
@@scottmccambley764 you could get a slightly older Cummins for the same price, depending on when you bought it. You have all that extra weight and make the same amount of power as my half ton😂

Tradesman with leather interior?? How?
@BuckingandHunting2 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure those are the factory vinyl seats. The new vinyl is actually pretty nice
@22_living2 жыл бұрын
The Tradesman comes standard with vinyl. I also have a Laramie with leather. I actually prefer the vinyl seats with vinyl floors. Much easier to clean. In addition, as odd as it may sound, I have found the Tradesman seats more comfortable overall than the Laramie. Just my preference.

Budget def isn’t the word I’d use lol

When you think about it though, this whole build and truck cost less than a optioned Laramie/Limited truck that's bone stock. If you only have so many dollars to spend, and need performance off road, this is the way to do it. We'd say that definitely counts as a budget build. Every dollar spent went to something with a performance oriented propose.

A bunch of build is like me fixing up my $500 1994 Honda Civics front front end that got hit for $500 thats budget build
@infernoking75042 жыл бұрын
I would just keep it stock its a 4 door can't really do that good offroad even with the lift way to big. I would just use it as a truck.
