My biggest hope in terms of roster is that it’s the first Digimon game to include all the Bancho Digimon and my favorite Digimon of all time, Callismon. The fact it’s confirmed to take place in the Digital World is already a huge relief

In next order, I finally got a Guilmon and a variant of Angemon, but then I took too long to reach certain stats for both and ended up with Guilmon digivolving into a numemon, and That Angemon variant digivolving into a Monzaemon. I hope they add the digimon from the vital bracelet too.

Even though we didn't get a ton of information on the new story game at con or the past few weeks, I still have my hopes that the game will still have things to look forward to after all the wait. I love the idea of it focusing on the Olympus 12 and the theme around it being the main focus is a step in great direction as they don't really appear much besides Coronamon and Lunamon as starters. I just hope they take the time they need and had to make the wait worth it

As the Olympus 12 are my favorite Digimon Group and with how Cyber Sleuth told its story, I’m still very excited for this game despite how long it’s taking. Though I am a patient man (I am a KH fan after all), so I’m still willing to wait as I have confidence it will result in a great end product. The wait for Survive was insane, but it produced such a good game imo, so I’m willing to wait again to get that same type of end product. Some of my wishes for the game include having all the full lines we already have for the 12 in the game, which shouldn’t be too hard, but I am hoping, PRAYING even, that at least one more member gets an addition to their like. Like seriously, 9 out of the 12 members don’t have lines to any real capacity! My personal vote is for Junomon to get a line to match Jupitermon, maybe even give them a Jogress since they’re meant to be a couple. But those are just my thoughts. If the gameplay regained some of the roots it has in Dawn and Dusk, namely that by digivolving and reverting at the right times that you could build a digimon's stats, then I would love to play it, as I am one of the few people that enjoys the grind. I would also enjoy it if my favorite digimon, Aegisdramon, actually made it into the game

Yeah, I'm in the boat of "didn't know they were making one" 😂. I love the turn based Digimon games, so I'm hoping it'll be more like those. The DS games were some of my favourite, digivolving and the De-digivolving to make them stronger and try out different routes was always my favourite part of these games. I was wondering why CyberSleuth felt exactly familiar to me when I played Digimon World Dusk as a kid. It makes complete sense now. But also I miss the sprite work of Dusk and Dawn a lot. That was always peak to me. 3D models are also great and there's no complaints, I just am a big fan of sprites, too. And the sprite work in Dawn and Dusk rules.

I think the saying of “Those who wait for something good don’t wait too long” is appropriate here. I for one am willing to wait. Something that I’m personally hoping for this game to feature is (in some capacity at least) some level of choice regarding the avatar. Even if it’s just limited to something like selecting the gender, body-type and other kinds of pre-made assets alongside giving the avatar a name (even if the name will ultimately be inconsequential).

One thing I’d like to see (not necessarily from the next story or world game but a survive esque game where characters have set partners) is a Digimon that’s been seen before as a partner in the anime but they completely go with a different Digivolition path as a subversion. An example I can think of off the top of my head would be if a character gets paired with a Biyomon but instead of going down the standard Birdramon or Aquilamon lines they go with say Xiquemon. Or they could just give said Digimon multiple branches so you could get the best of both worlds, the nostalgic and the new.

I remain simple: So long as I can have Wizardmon, I am happy with the digimon in the game lol. So glad that there will be another Digimon Story title. I doubt they'll take this route now, but I would love to have this one localized in English with the option for English voices. Sometimes, relying on the wall of text (that isn't even checked for syntax errors or spelling in a professional game) is difficult. I loved Cybersleuth, but there were some glaring errors in the English text. Next Order did better, but also had the option of English voices. Regardless, this is the best video game news I've had in ages. Thank you Karn!

I appreciate this video! I'm a recent fan so a lot of the news about this game is stuff I didn't know. I thought a lot of the people talking about "a new Digimon game" were just huffing copium but I guess there really is one brewing up! It's unfortunate to learn that Habu left the project, and I do think that might result in consequences for its quality, but if he left this late in development perhaps there will still be a lot of his unique hand on the game. Regardless, I'm positive it's coming out, after a Nintendo Direct where we saw the revival of Mario and Luigi and MVC2 as well as actual concrete footage of Metroid Prime 4 (and in the same year we got Mario RPG and Thousand Year Door remakes, all things I assumed would never happen), I'm ready to believe just about anything now!

I think the game is very likely to come out, especially in the wake of those announcements. I'm not a big fan of the story games myself, or really any Digimon game from Data Squad onwards, but in general I feel like they've been pretty consistent with releasing promised games since Re-Digitize. I don't see the rationale in being negative about the realease timing, if you're looking forward to the game and there's a promise there that mirrors promises made before and effectuated then just have a bit a patience, it'll come out.

I've always wanted a digimon 3d platformer, like ratchet and clank, jak and daxter, Spyro etc. having aegiomon be the main character and unlocking new aegiochusmon evolutions for new abilities could be fun for combat and traversal, and fighting the Olympus XII in big dynamic arenas would be super cool!

Some sources even claim that it IS Minervamon, without the Childish Mindset they had as part of the Olympos XII. I personally feel Mervamon should be a Perfect/Ultimate-Level Digimon that Evolves to the Olympos XII Member, or vice-versa, but the O-XII Digimon came First so it would get precedent here most likely... Whether they can be considered a part of the O-XII while in this Form however, is where your statement holds some credit, I'll admit...

Interesting video. I hope it be multiplatform so that more people can get to play it. On Nintendo switch version ( s) would be nice for the reason it be easier to bring along compared to the bigger consoles( like ps4, etc) in the past I used to be often in my room all alone while playing on PlayStation consoles, but with the portable ones i was more active around and i could just bring the portable in other places where family was and you get atleast more options when something is portable ( like for example if someone feels lonely they can bring the console to where others are and when feels like " i prefer to now play alone for a while " you get then the choice to bring it to your room) Some other things i hope for is it to have voices ( original Japanese with international subtitles) like in Cyber sleuth. And some kind of fresh new feel that isn't too repetitive

I really would like an action rpg from digimon, using a digimon itself with a very epic story and its evolution to one of the best mons out there to save the digiworld, like, imagine if we ever see this happening and its final evolution its Gaiamon. Or one where you play using the royal knight(in a good way) Or finally having a game where X-antybody digimon are the protagonists. Or heck, i know its another greymon/garurumon idea, but what about one where we can finally see Victory Greymon and Z'dGarurumon as playable and maybe see their fusion.
