Gosh, I have no issues with agents making a commission. They are providing a very important service. Without a site like this one it would be so much more complicated on what to do. Iv'e learned so much about Advantage plans and Supplement plans watching these videos. So much so that I sometimes feel like I should be paying for all this valuable information. When it gets close I will e-mail you and see if you are licensed in my area. if not maybe just help steer me in the right direction. I am still loving the "G" plan, but everything is still on the table. Great Video!

We would be honored to help. I am not personally licensed in GA, but my business partner is. Exact same philosophy of education and service, not sales. He just knows more than me :) G is so solid! Based on your comments over the past almost two years, Plan G seems like a wise choice!

Using an agent is a no-brainer. Why go it alone with a system where complexity rules? When you have problems with billing, it is nice to have someone you can call. Borrowing expertise is a great way to reduce stress. Thank you for the great explanation, 90 Days From Retirement!

Nice explanation … now I see why there are so many people doing this. At $600 a pop all you need is to sign up 200 people a year to make 120k … not a bad gig 😊 … btw … love your video’s because they are well thought out and informative.

Thank you for watching and the kind words! Remember that there are a lot of overhead expenses that go into this if someone is hoping to make it a career, and 200 a year may sound easy, but it isn't for most people. Also, Supplement plans usually are not $600 and can be much less. A lot of people choose supplements instead of Advantage, and for good reasons, so 200 quickly turns into quite a bit more than that needed to make the income numbers you mention. Appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment!

Thank you for being honest 👍. Not knocking agents here but everything in the US is so costly because of these arrangements, just like home buying, every one who HELPS you takes a cut and it adds $$$ to the consumers 😢!!!

Good to know Erik. I always wondered about this. Guess that's why almost all videos from others on YT only talk about the Advantage plans.

We seem to see a lot of channels take a stand around one or the other, and then everyone points fingers saying anyone who offers the other one doesn't know what they're doing or they are hurting their clients. Our approach is different. These two plans are VERY different and neither is perfect for EVERYONE. We try to educate around how both work so that people can make informed decisions around their needs and comfort with risk. We have clients that love, LOVE their supplement plans, and the plans have worked amazing for them where an Advantage plan would not have been a good fit. We also have clients that love, LOVE their Advantage plans because they have worked exactly as they expected where a Supplement plan wasn't a good fit. Everyone's situation is unique. It's been so interesting over the past few years on KZbin to see people accuse us of unfairly favoring Supplement plans and then different people accuse us of unfairly favoring Advantage plans IN THE SAME VIDEO :) I guess that means we're accomplishing our goal of being balanced. Appreciate you watching!

I am planning to sign up for plan G, I spoke with several agents and some were like car salesmen with high pressure, wanting to close the deal, and I felt like they all had a bias and agenda. It is crazy how the prices change per city within the same state and other states. If you are planning to move to another state, you need to check the rates there, it might influence who you originally sign up with. If you have health problems, you will likely be with the same company for the rest of your life because you will probably have to go through medical underwriting which can drastically raise the price of the plan. Anyone have experience with Ace Property and Casualty Insurance company for medigap plans? They have some of the best rates.

@Theretirementnerds Жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm sorry the agents you connected with made you feel pressured. As with any profession, there are lots of different philosophies and ways of going about things. Hopefully you found someone who isn't high pressure. Yes, it is wild how rates can change so dramatically, even in bordering states. If you haven't, happy to help in any way we can. My email is erik@90daysfromretirement.com I (guy in the video) personally don't have experience with Ace since they are not established in our area, however, our partners will know about them. Sounds like you are in a state one of my partners would be licensed in rather than myself. Thank you for watching!

Yes, there are agents and agencies that do this. It is unfortunate and gives those of us who do not work that way a bad rap. Sorry you have experienced that!

Just subscribed, I like your video telling us how you agents get paid. I waiting for my Plan B to be approved and after I’m planning to enroll in a Plan G and D soon. Do these plans have high increases each year? Also you mentioned that supplement plan has no vision, dental, and hearing. I hope I can get all plans under $300 a month.
@Theretirementnerds
@Theretirementnerds Жыл бұрын
Thank you for subscribing! Increases are highly dependent on the insurance company you choose and where you live. Don't put it in KZbin comments, but if you want to shoot me an email to erik@90daysfromretirement.com with your zip code, we can look at options in your area and see if those costs are doable. Thank you for watching!

I'm subscribed to you and have learned a lot from your videos. I'll be 65 in April 2024 and my spouse will be 65 in April 2025. In my research, I've seen that some insurance companies offer premium discounts if two people in the same household enroll in a supplement plan with the same company. Do you see this type of discount with insurance companies often?
@Theretirementnerds
@Theretirementnerds Жыл бұрын
Yes, this is quite common. Work with an agent on those because a lot of those have an expiration on how long they offer it and then it drops away. Others don't have the drop-off.

FWIW: we all pay. It would be interesting to see what kind of coverage we'd have if there was just one plan, one payer, and this "industry" of confusion didn't exist (and paid for by all of us). I understand that anything sounding "universal" or "one-size-fits-all" causes bad reactions in people. But, it would be interesting to see the difference between "pick your poison" (and all the costs associated with that illusion of choice), and one coverage without all these inefficencies (and costs to explain).

It is an interesting idea. Many countries try different forms of this with varying levels of success. For a couple years, I lived in one of these countries, and, when put into practice, did not turn out well. Doesn't mean it's impossible though. Thank you for watching!

Who gets the commission when you are under a state funded plan? The state? Who is the agent? The state? As a subscriber we handle our election online.

In our area, for the state-funded plan insurance companies, there isn't a commission built in 🙂
