Thanks for the tips! I’m about to go on a 2700 mile road trip across the bottom of the US and back from LA to Florida and this was a great video. Two things that might also be good to keep with you are: 1) TT - 30 connector for your Tesla mobile connector. In case of emergency or if you need to charge at an RV park that’s old-school the TT-30 will work the harder to find then the other ones but they are what RV parks use a lot, 2) you mentioned going through touchless car washes. I do that, and as many people always mention, the black, trim of the Tesla can get spotted or rainbow. When you use the touchless car washes because of the extra chemicals they use in their soap to keep the car clean without brushes. I always carry stainless steel cleaning wipes, so I can wipe off the black trim and keep it looking black. Those are just two things. I also carry with me that you didn’t mention. Thanks again, Branden!

I can't overstate enough how important it is to carry glass cleaner. Even before I had an EV I was filming road trip videos so I frequently cleaned the windshield. A good glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth are far better than most gas station squeegees. I don't understand why so many people long for squeegees at charging stations instead of just carrying their own class cleaner & microfiber.
@brandenflasch Жыл бұрын
I totally agree. I never used gas station squeegees even before I had an EV.

Very informative video, but for my road trips it’s a waxing/polishing on the front end and a Modern Spare in the trunk. As much as I’m enjoying my MYLR it’s just a car to me.

I’ve only ever needed the tesla mobile charger with the regular and Nema 14-50 adapters. However I always have my chademo and ccs adaptors and will use them to opportunity charge occasionally. If I’m camping or know I’ll be near a campsite I’ll bring along the TT- 30 adaptor but that’s about it. In 6 years and over 150,000 miles I’ve never needed to use it, but keep an extension cord and have a Nema 14-50 extension cord at home as well for visitors to use. The one thing everyone needs is AAA especially since they are expanding their mobile charging network on the east coast finally

The wireless charging pad in the Tesla is really just taking up space. I never use it for the same reasons you mentioned. It's slow and it overheats your phone. I wish Tesla had more than just one 12v outlet, I use several different things that require a 12v.

Hey Branden, I strongly suggest a clear plastic ‘piss bottle.’ One can get one at their local hospital - for free if you know what I mean. My wife who’s a nurse suggested it when we bought our Tesla Model 3 Performance and I’ve used it many, many times while on a road trip! Cheers!

@bullseye-not Жыл бұрын
@@brandenflasch Wow! Really? This actually works. I lived in Florida where we had Love Bugs and a lot of other bugs that would end up on bumpers and on the front of my 12' high 5th wheel. I learned this from RVers. I use this during a normal wash. Wash first then while the car is still wet dunk the dryer sheet soapy or plain water and gently rub in circles. Move from one side of the bumper to the other and go over it again. It may require a few passes The bugs will dissolve as you go. You can use new sheet or one that had been used in the dryer. Unless you are a moron the result is scratchless.
