Misleading title, again. Why not just say... Here's what I think the new ZR1 will cost? Simple. A base Z06 starts at $110,100. My guess is at least $169,900, but probably more like $179,900. Still not bad for 1,064 horsepower. Long wait before we know for sure anyway.

My guess is that the ZR1 is going to start at $169,990.00. I anticipate that the ZR1 is not going unnoticed by Porsche and Lamborghini. I expect new high horsepower numbers to be announced by them within the next year, e.g., Lamborgini's new turbo V-8 engine and a significant update to the 911 GT2.

I think you are right in the ball park of ZR1 MSRP. I do suspect real price will creep higher at least in the initial phase. Not sure on the suggestion of big answers in power from the competition though. Lambo maybe but all the 992.2s engines range from 388 to 640. The 991 GT2 engine was 690 with a one lap water injection (one trick pony) and after the water is gone back to 640 so it won't be easy for them to even reach 700 clean.

Researching the ZR1. I found its weight ballooned to around 4000 Lbs. I think the ZRl will have an average price of $200,000 and higher before any dealer markups.

Remember the twin turbo install is $30,000 installed. On a Z06, so an equivalent ZR1 would be approximately $160,000

@@jimsteinway695 Do you really think GM, with a few hundred million in R&D budget, will come out with a ZR1 that can be easily matched by some backyard tuner shop by slapping a pair of turbos and a tune on a Z06??!!! GM hire degreed engineers who are at the top of their graduating class and the engineers know the performance envelope that the motors can be pushed to without destruction. How many aftermarket tuners are successful at pushing the factory performance envelope without destroying the engine? Keep in mind, these aftermarket tuners don't know what the factory design specs are and don't have that data. And when it comes to tuning, the factory has a $400,000.00 flow bench to tune the intake system for maximum performance across a wide RPM band. How many aftermarket tuners have that type of flow bench??!!! And how many aftermarket tuners are actually degreed engineers??!!!

They should take the ZR1 and do a direct sell on this car with bowling green as the only option for delivery eliminating the stealerships allocation on this car for the first year

NOBODY will get a ZR1 out the door for less than $200K, then you add the dealer markup we all know will happen. Not so long ago we were seeing $50-$100k markups, so add another 400HP, then add options (I don't think we'll see many "stripper" ZR1's), so my thought if you can get a ZR1 out the door for around $230-$250K that will be considered a "good deal", but I think it will take more than that. Price out a Porsche GT3RS or a Mustang GTD, and bring your checkbook.

Let's see a Mustang GTD 800 horsepower base price is $300,000.00 add on options and $320-350K is a no brainer. Then look at the ZR1 1064 HORSEPOWER and a MAXED OUT PRICE of $250,000 and really you have to be such a FORD FANATIC to buy the Mustang over the ZR1 that you have more money to burn than timber wood in a forest! Can one logically buy a Mustang over the ZR1?........As I stated, and as proved below, you have to be a Ford Fanatic with more money than brains to pick the GTD over the ZR1....Even Raiti compared the GTD to a LAMBO! One of the things that I think about when you purchase a new Corvette, what is it gonna be worth three years from when you purchased it the GT3 RS you know exactly what is going to be worth most likely a lot more than you paid for if you are fortunate enough to get one at sticker

Zr1 loaded with carbon wheels like the fully fully loaded one is 225k. I just put twin turbos on my z06 for a total of 1100whp at 160g

The top 3 Corvette dealers all sell at MSRP. MacMulkin, Ciocca and Criswell. Rather travel or have my car shipped than give imto dealer greed. And u dont need carbon fiber wheels Apex flow formed is good enough lot cheaper. If u can buy a ZR1 for $160,000 its a hell of a deal. Why buy all this stuff from GM when u don’t need it or find it from the aftermarket for lot less money. Id want the vet over anything else out there its American its 1064 HP and if u can get one for $160,000 buying anything else is basically throwing money away lol!! Dude this car is going to be a quarter of a million dollars or higher. This is a ridiculous for an American corvette. Trust me i love corvette’s since a kid but it’s ridiculous in pricing. People can buy a used Lambo for that. Any car company can make an engine with over 1000hp. Let’s not act like that’s some miracle -The could make a Ford Escort with a 1000hp. Horsepower doesn’t mean you get to charge hundreds of 1000s of dollars. I’m still pissed they haven’t made the front end more mean looking. The C7 ZR1 looks meaner in the front. The car is getting too expensive and it’s why they did the Horsepower that high so that people would then think that equals a quarter million. Not really no. For you maybe because you like to go to a track. But most don’t so sell me a ZR1 for $160,000 with 950hp and I’ll add 100hp more for a lot less than a $100,000. Markups will be insane. These cars will be $300-350 everywhere. It’s getting silly. Watch the cars drop in price and everything else when Trump is in -it’s not just fuel prices adding this inflation it’s businesses taking advantage of us. Grocery stores and insurance companies ,etc are sucking us dry before another President comes in-it’s always been that way. Grocery stores saw ppl will still pay the money so they never dropped prices. When Trump gets elected you will see the prices will start dropping every month until he is sworn in just like when a Dem gets voted in they start jacking prices the day after election. Rinse and repeat. On Election Day 2020 gas was $1.86 a gallon and by Trumps last day it was around $2.46 a gallon because companies don’t care and start the rip off cycle because big corps are in bed with the Dems. So companies will drop prices before he gets in office so they don’t get targeted for ripping us off and blaming other reasons-the reason is greed and Dems allow it and they’re allowing monopolies.

Maybe I am demographically too young for this crowd and maybe I have too much money for my age to be chasing these types of cars but I truly don't get the GT3RS ZR1 compare. One is a retro 500HP car (2006 C6 Z06 power?) that appeals to the retro guys and the other one is a brand new product and not a 60s refresh. Yes the GT3RS is very expensive for what it offers and it's rare because very few folks buy it at that price point so yes rarity does add to resale value if it's not driven which seems to be the case because I have not seen one on the road in a long time. I just don't understand but again it could be I am young and have not been around long enough.

Wouldn't the ZR1be more comparable to a new Turbo S? The GT3 RS is a track weapon, whereas the Turbo S is a super GT about like what the ZR1 will be and weighs closer to 3700lb. At any rate, regardless of what new car it's being compared to for under $300k I'd take it.

I’m pretty sure the ZR1 comes standard with carbon ceramic brakes and carbon fiber aero bits so those won’t add to the price at all. I think the car will be $164,000 base price. Add ZTK and 3LZ for around $13k and you get to $177k ish. That would be a huge win for the buyer imho. This thing will become legendary!

You are being incredibly generous, most have estimated base to be +160k, mark ups will be around 50k to 100K, and any other packages or add on will be 30 to 50k. Which totals about +250K Even I don't believe marks ups or add on could reach 50k let alone 100k, but apparently all of them have evidence to back it up based on the previous Z06 models having marks ups and add ons being as expensive, so now I don't know what to believe.

The C7 Z06 price vs the C7 ZR1 warranted a price increase of $35k to $40k. The difference in power was a meager 105 hp and 65 lb-ft of tq. Visually, besides the aero and hood there is not much to tell the difference between the C7 Z06 and the C7 ZR1. Mechanically there were some differences. The C8 Z06 vs C8 ZR1 has a power and tq difference of almost 400 hp and 370 lb-ft of tq. There is a more visual difference between the C8 Z06 to C8 ZR1 vs the C7 Z06 to C7 ZR1. Mechanically they changed the internals of the engine, added turbos, eliminated the front trunk for more cooling, and changed the internals of the transmission to handle the added power and tq. There is no way Chevy will demand a poultry $30k price difference. We're talking about what could very well be the last pure ICE ZR1. We're talking about the first American manufacture to get 1000 hp on pump gas. We're talking a 400 hp difference not 105 hp difference. We're talking a 370 lb-ft of tq difference not a 65 lb-ft of tq difference. The difference in power and tq between the C8 Z06 to C8 ZR1 is more than the combined difference of the last 2 gens of Corvette Z06 to ZR1. There is no way Chevy will MSRP this C8 ZR1 below $200k

Base price 200k for the coupe and 206k for the convertible C8 ZR1.Latest news: Corvette models stop until the ZR1 the next Zora hybrid will not be badged Chevrolet, it will be a unique model called Zora exclusively distributed by Cadillac for an exclusive high-end customer service and Cadillac is already working with Michelin to approve the new Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 as official tyres on the Zora Hybrid , of course the Michelin Cup 2 R will be available for trackdays.

I'd take a GT3 RS and day over the ZR1. I'd even take a 911 Turbo S over the ZR1. I just don't think GM can deliver a complete package like the GT3 RS, but time will tell. I also think the C8's rearend needs an overhaul. The front 2/3 are great and then it starts looking like one of the Kardashian girls.
