Damn, no mention of the Ricky Rubio pickup? Before the injury, having Love, Rubio, and Osman coming off the bench was huge for us. I don't think many contenders have that type of production from their bench unit. Hopefully Rondo can fill that gap when he gets healthy because he's just as smart as Rubio. It's been really important to have that veteran presence when the young guys get a little overwhelmed sometimes and don't know how to slow it down and run a set. Ricky was great at that. He could sometimes single handedly stop the momentum an opponent had by slowing it down and running a play for one of the big guys to get an easy bucket
@DaleRojoDecaf2 жыл бұрын
Ricky Rubio is out for the season and won't be likely to be in the future plans the way the other players are. He's an important pickup for 1-3yrs, but I think this video is moreso focusing on the players that are looking to be 5-10yrs with Cavs as a strong core. Rubio is replaceable compared to all the players listed and was already a known commodity.

It's time to bring Lebron back. Trade Garland, Sexton, Markkanen and a 1st round pick for Lebron, Monk, and Reaves. With Lebron at PG, Monk at SG, Okoro at SF, Mobley at PF, Allen at C, and Love at 6th man, the Cavs will be the favorite to win the next 3 years. With Garland 22, Mobley and Allen, there are too young and not good enough to win the title in the next 3 years. After 3 years, have to pay Garland and Mobley.

@@paulwilliams3930 The Niners became a title contender pretty quickly under Jim Harbaugh and then Kyle Shanahan. Basketball is even easier to get better. Didn't Lebron lead the Cavs to finals in his 3rd or 4th season in the NBA? The 76ers became a perennial playoffs after getting Embiid. Sexton look in a bad position right now. When he returns from the injury, he will have to fight for minutes with Rondo and Rubio. I think Rubio will return great from the injury, he is 31 y/o, he has the chance to recover completely from the acl. The only thing left for the Cavs to do is sign or draft a good/great wing defender, or even a 3&D wing. Mobley and Allen are the best in defense, but in the playoffs is a different picture, they need a reliable defender as a SF because Lauri and Osman, when they can't contribute on the offense, they could turn into a defensive liability, and you dont want that to happen, depending so much in one or two players in one side at the court could turn into a weak spot that your matchup team could take advantage of. With a 3&D wing in their lineup, Mobley, Okoro and Allen, even if they have to rest Mobley or Allen, their defense won't collapse.
@JoPe-d7n2 жыл бұрын
I see your point and agree 100% that they need a better wing defender. But in fairness to Markkanen, he's been pretty good of a defender this year. They can also switch every ball screen with him and lose nothing. Allen and Mobley are maybe even better on the perimeter (Mobley definitely is, Allen is pretty much on the same level as Lauri) and Markkanen is tall enough to have some impact on the big guy. So I think having Markkanen as a bench wing/big would be really nice thing to have, especially because he fits really nicely to Allen and Mobley. I'd try to trade Sexton and a 1st round pick for a wing, also realising that the good ones are really hard to get. Might have to wait a season or two to find them at free agency.
@marcosmartinez80882 жыл бұрын
@@JoPe-d7n i would like to see if they could trade Sexton for Deni Advija Avdija or for Josh Hart. Deni is a pretty good defender and a good all around player, kinda like Osman, but the Wizards have not given him the chance to develope properly yet. And a healthy Sexton is arguably better than what Dinwiddie is doing right now. Also, Sexton for Hart is a right move for the Pels that need a better pg. The Cavs could get one or two picks for those moves too. The other teams for the NBA have already good-great pgs-sgs, i dont see where Sexton could fit beside those two teams.
@JoPe-d7n2 жыл бұрын
@@marcosmartinez8088 Wow these are actually really good mock trades. Kudos to you. Avdija would be amazing return for Sexton. Calling him pretty good defender is a slight understatement imo. He has moments where he's straight up awesome on defense. He's not that good of a shooter tho so it might be a little problem for the Cavs. With Allen and Okoro as non-shooters there isn't really any space for another one on the court. If Avdija wasn't on a rookie contract for the next two years (on the contrast of Sexton being a free-agent next summer) I'd like this trade for both teams. The Cavs might have to throw in a pick in this instance tho. I don't really have an opinion with the Hart trade. I haven't watched the Pelicans almost at all this year so I don't know how he's developed. His stats looks fine but idk if he'd be an upgrade from Sexton.
@gunmuratilban86672 жыл бұрын
I think Mobley is the key behind this season's success. His defensive upside is as high as Tim Duncan's. He might be the most polished rookie I've seen in terms of defense. Him and Garland is a championship duo. Though I believe every other piece in the team will be moved eventually in order to raise their ceiling. Those Garland-Sexton and Mobley-Allen duos do limit their ceiling. They don't have to rush for it; but ideally they will need to surround Garland-Mobley with 3 and D players as well as a good scoring wing in order to reach their potential.
