as someone who watches Battlebots and follows the teams behind the show, SendCutSend is a very familliar name, people trust them to deliver parts for their $20.000 combat robots on time for a TV show, wich is a glowing reccomendation in my book

I would just like to say that this video might just have changed my life. I hate my job. I’ve wanted to do this kind of work for years now but couldn’t from my tiny apartment or parents garage when I lived at home. I have so many ideas. Your channel really got me interested in this stuff and made me branch out into other fabrication and even machining and restoration channels, electronics manufacturing and repair, custom cabling, and even more. It seems every day I see a video that details how I could do what I want to do with what I have, or videos of people doing what I want to do with even less than I have. I need to stop being lazy. Thanks for making this video.

Great ad. Made me immediately go to the site and made me really interested, only downside is that they don't ship outside US yet. Hard to find services like these that wouldn't cost an arm and leg that ships to the Philippines.
@bersK003 жыл бұрын
There have to be machinists in the Philippines that can do it for the same price or cheaper, I don’t know about the service per se though...

I actually just used them for a mod of inwin's d-frame mini. I originally got parts form a custom fabricator made which was about 450 but their accuracy issues and some mistakes on my part made the parts unusable I originally went with them cause sendcutsend didn't have a bend option but that changed so I have been able to order the same parts from them for less than half the price. I finished my mod and I couldn't be happier with how awesome send cut send is.

This is crazy, was looking to get a part cut and remembered you talking about some company that has great service on a livestream a couple months ago. I come check you channel today to see a new video about them haha. Perfect timing

Just received my parts from sendcutsend for my first ever case design after being compelled to design my own case from watching your vids. I’m very excited to put everything together. Thanks for the recommendation Josh!

This company is awesome! And now they can do bends! I needed a lot of custom aluminum parts for several builds made and they were cheap and fast!

this should be a "how-to video" on how to do a good ad.
@Toastmaster_50003 жыл бұрын
That's easy - have a product/service so compelling that you voluntarily advertise it. Too many businesses are so focused on profit, but if they were to just stop for a moment and realize that happy customers will advertise for you, then it's cheaper in the long run to just do things right.

Open source case designed by NFC??? This is what one would call a truly epic dub (I think? Not a zoomer…)

I would LOVE to see a prototype design for your ATX console case be released for reproduction. I think this design in general would make a good open source project considering ATX boards, flex ATX PSUs, low profile coolers, and PCIE risers are all sort of "off the shelf" parts on amazon or might even be made with some at home parts for people who don't have a ton of money, but really want to build something fun.
@NotFromConcentrate2 жыл бұрын
Hi Andrew! What do you mean released for production? All my "Open" series cases are released for reproduction as far as I know. If I can help please let me know! Thanks
@greenprotag2 жыл бұрын
@@NotFromConcentrate I actually just rewatched some of the ATX case video and realized you released the files to patrion. So that was a little error on my part xD.

I have never ordered something at Sendcutsend, although I compared the prices to local companies in Germany and Sendcutsend was way more expensive excluding shipping and those companies also do bending and anodizing...
@NotFromConcentrate3 жыл бұрын
If you can do local--do local! It's always good to support local businesses. Not everyone has that option though. Peace

Metal prices in North America have skyrocketed lately. It's bad to the point that it has become newsworthy. A lot of companies have to pass these costs to the customer. Wood prices have also become absurdly high.

I'm curious if you've ever tried to make the four mini in carbon fiber. I did some carbon fiber work in college and wonder how it would translate over to a PC case like that, and how light a system in that case could get
@ChimpyChamp3 жыл бұрын
I would love to know where you find the models of the PC parts, that must be a super useful resource for you when it comes to designing those cases of yours.

If you could go back in time with your current knowledge, would you, buy a cnc router, buy a cnc mill, or contract a jobshop for machined parts?
@NotFromConcentrate Жыл бұрын
Amazing question, and the answer is it depends. For anything sendcutsend can cut...I would just use them. In fact I don't even use my CNC anymore for sheet metal work and I don't use my laser for sheet metal either. It's faster and cheaper even when I don't calculate my time to get them to do it. I do run the laser for rapid prototyping and for acrylic and wood. As for the CNC, I don't use the one in my workshop anymore, but my partner does in his for special projects. We do too much work to justify sending it out as jobshop prices are crazy high for machined parts...but if I only needed the occasional part that is what I would do. The big thing to remember is yes, a CNC costs alot of money up front, but that is just a drop in the bucket of the real cost of ownership. The amount of time you need to spend learning the software, troubleshooting, learning feeds and speeds for EVERY endmill and material you cut, and the setup/fixturing time is the real cost of ownership and it is very high. If you are a hobbiest and want to do it for enjoyment that is one thing but it's not a casual hobby. Regarding CNC mill or CNC router...for our work a CNC router because it is more versatile and we aren't cutting dense parts out of dense materials often. We stick to acrylic and the very occasional copper or aluminum part.

Any good alternative for EU ? I'd like to cut down on shipping costs ...

you could try Fractory in the UK. I used them last year and they're pretty good, although they're not really for hobbyists or small runs. It wasn't exactly cheap, but not stupid money.
