I'm more of a K.I.S.S. method type of driver. If I need a calculator then I'm working too hard. A 220 mile run takes 4 hours. A 500 mile run takes 10 hours. Start to finish. That allows for pre-trips, fuel, traffic (in most areas) and 30 min breaks. The method is simple mental math take the first number of the 3 digit number and double it. If you're traveling through any major city during rush hour then add 1 after you double. You'll be early (but not too early) 99% of the time. And you won't be speeding to arrive on time.

Now i have notes to go back and refer to about truck types, load boards/brokers, setting up llc, tax structure, hiring drivers, full vs partial loads, etc. I highly recommend this consultation for anyone looking to get into trucking. And thank you for putting out all this information. We appreciate you

I hope he can bounce back and hopefully go with a different brand of trucks. That max force is not it!

I use to look up the traveling distance and time on Google. Then I look at the time is supposed to be delivered. Then I add an additional 1hour and 30mins to buffer time. For instance, let’s say I have to deliver a load that is 878.1 miles and it takes 12 hours and 10 minutes of travel time. Let’s say the load has to be delivered on Monday by 3pm. I calculated the time zone I enter then leave an additional 1 to 2 hours of drive time. Then I add maybe an additional hour for stops and breaks. So I started traveling 3 to 4 hours earlier than needed. Do you think this is a good method or should I punch in numbers as you just described in the video.

@TruckingFromScratch4 жыл бұрын
.72 doesn’t represent minute-minutes. It is decimal minutes; that’s why the conversion is needed. .50 of an hour is 30 mins (.50*60mins). So .72 of an hour is 43.2 mins (.72*60). I hope this made it clearer.

This calculation I and many other the driver have trouble to keep up. Because it was between the brokers and the clients they make deal rather than from the driver handle the late night transport and season and time different. And also how much weight in the truck. For move up hill and how Lengthy the up hill is. There is no such the 10% cushion for late it is working. Especially moving multiple lane for straight unsafe. While the right land for all driver outer lane to return to city or get ready return to the cities along the interstate and the right lane also the releasing traffic for merging a lot from cities to the interstate Hwy. It is not work in peak hour and it is also not work at night time at visibility and hill road and winter time. Too guy make deal then too guy make the pick up and delivery. BS sign out
