In Miami, The Fiskers and Alfa Romeos are sold at the same dealer. Look really great side by side. Id get both.

Makes sense, it’s the same at the dealership that I get these cars from as well in SC.

A PHEV is the worst of both worlds. Extortionate amounts of maintenance for the ICE part of the chimera and no BEV range to speak of and slow slow slow charging because the battery is so piddly small (and will wear out much much faster because it has to deliver an extreme amount of sustained power for its small size). PHEV are NOT an option I would ever choose. BEV all the way!

Interesting thought there, have you dealt with those issues before or is this hypothetical opinion?

@@AutoNatics Those are real life issues that are verifiable by looking at for example insurance statistics. PHEV are three times as likely to catch fire as ICE driven cars while BEV are 20-60 times LESS likely to catch fire. And the battery issues are built in failure points because of the size of the battery (inform yourself about how the charging speed relates to battery degradation). In Germany for example there are tax breaks for PHEV but these are almost purely driven on the ICE and thus only carry around the battery as dead weight, increasing the fuel consumption - which is why the tax breaks have been limited to PHEV that have at least 60 miles of electrical range (to have a large enough battery to make a little sense in using it). And logically it doesn't make sense to increase complexity as is done in PHEV - increase complexity and the number of things that can and will go wrong increases. And in a PHEV there not only is the added complexity of both the ICE and electrical drive train but also the connection between both and that is the absolute killer!
