Thanks Brad. Greetings from AUSTRALIA. I have been spending about 4-6 hours a day, researching stocks from Aussie and USA. i have started to invest heavily now. Started in feb 2023, i hit the 1st $100k mark in june this year. Invested it all into my retirement fund SMSF, like your IRA, and purchased industrial land with it.. Now i am already at $85k of my 2nd $100k, working my own business. I get up very early, or stay up late to see / trade US stocks because of my time difference. Your videos are a god send. I get so much info to look at and research, and so many shares i get to pick from, that i would never have found, or even knew about. Even my Accountant, and my Lawyer, both have trouble keeping up with my trades. I have to say, This video IS THE BEST. Also did i say it was THE BEST. Because of my business, and long hours. i now invest about 60-80% of my income / profits each week. Yours videos all hit my Safe & Long Term pillar. About 33%. i have the rest split into Growth, the balance in High Yield, while trying to stop NAV erosion. Thanks From Australia.

That chart about retiring during a bear market is so powerful. I started building my portfolio a couple years ago. Conventional wisdom said to dump everything in an S&P 500 index fund and call it a day. I did that for a while but that strategy never sat right with me. Build up a nest egg, stop working, take out 4% each year, and cross your fingers that you die before you run out of money? So glad I discovered income investing!

I have to ask what are you talking about? A CC is a bearish move not a bullish move. They all should preform better than their underlying asset. Now if you want some pull pack protection for some reason in which I don’t understand try looking at NUSI and give up the 5 to 6% of the distributions of QQQI.

Thanks for sharing this. Much appreciated! FWIW, I had RIV for a long time but dropped it. They do a lot of rights offerings. They cut the dividend nearly 25% in Jan '23. It just didn't appeal to me after these happenings. I stay away from it. I made a rule that if I'm in a fund and the dividend varies 25%, then I'm just not that interested. A bit of variability is fine, but 25% seems to be my limit.
@Income_Architect2 ай бұрын
Might be a great rule. That explains the flat line in 2023 on total returns
@mikeconnell6982 ай бұрын
@@Income_Architect One other issue worth mentioning. RIV is a fund of funds. It holds underlying funds which use leverage. It adds an additional 32% leverage. Thats leverage on leverage. At that magnitude of leverage, its a pass.

I have already answered this question more than once on this video so sorry that I get a little short about the issues. Due to the SEC rules they must report the expenses of each of the funds that they own. Per the SEC rule. You need to look at their management fee not the SEC mandatory expenses ratio. The actual management fee is 0.40 with other as 0.41. This link explains the rules and how it works. www.vaneck.com/vaneck-vectors-bdc-income-etf-bizd-acquired-fund-fees-expenses-pdf/

Great portfolio! What about BIGY? I know SPYI is a great fund too but its just another steady eddie, which means it gives good divs each month but the share price kind of stays the same over the years. It would seem that BIGY would be a better long term steady eddie with 12 percent div, but this fund could move out of my steady eddies into my grandpa funds. BIGY is also built for capitol growth. In other words 10 years down the line SPYI will probably be within a few dollars what it is now but BIGY can have tremendous capitol growth and then DRIP all the divs back in I imagine a 100,000 investment can easily turn into 500,000 in 10 years.
@Income_Architect29 күн бұрын
That was last months portfolio. I looked at BIGY. Unproven YM fund that they have to prove they are in with long term. Same with SOXY. Is BIGY as steady fund? No distribution and nothing to say it is or is not. They have yet to provide anything to say they are in the game. I will tell you exactly what Jay said to me off camera. Only YM fund he could see recommending to retire people is YMAX. OMG right out of the fund managers mouth. He said that on GIAX interview when we stopped recording. So the answer is no until we see several months of distributions.

@@Income_Architect yup its a main stay with seasoned div investors. Been around for over a decade and consistent with div of around 14.29 percent or 0.1816. Its a solid steady eddie with not much capitol appreciation but pretty steady. I am making such bank off of MSTY that i switched it to 100 percent drip, so it should grow pretty fast. PDI is also a good steady eddie, but the fee is kind of high. Its like i tell all investors with these funds always try to put some back into the fund to make it grow, or as we call it feeding the pig! Agree on BIGY we shall see. Also i have my radar on FEAT and FIVY. They could also turn out to be steady eddies with some capitol growth. Fun fact, Guggenheim died on the Titanic!

I understand the $500,000+ portfolio generates income primarily from the covered calls pillar. Where do you get the funds for the other pillar of stocks? So you have more than a 500000+$ portfolio? Great work.
@Income_Architect7 күн бұрын
I have 5 pillars. Preferred stocks, CLO funds, Covered calls, BDC, and Alternatives (Bonds, Now REITS and BTC). I listed them out. Just for reference my portfolio is making 15.2% on a weighted average. Taking 8%. So you can scale it to what every amount of money you have. 500K should be able to produce over 75K a year but you want to live on 40K. Taking more the 8% raises the risk. 10% is pushing it. Even if the portfolio is producing 75K.

I'm in eight low-cost index funds that cover the broad (large cap/small cap/growth/value) market, and three bond funds that cover shorts, intermediates & tips, and 4+ years of spending in CDs for safety. And social security won't even kick in for another two years. Retired almost 3 years, averaging over 8.3% the last 16 years, right around 10% the past 8. I'm not trying to beat the market either, just stay with it pretty much. I'm going to investigate all of these funds you mentioned to see what their returns have been, but... Let’s say I’m targeting a $1 million portfolio, and my current living expenses are $36,000 per year. If I invest $10,000 each in YMAX, NVDY, MSTY, ULTY, and CONY, they currently pay about $40,000 in dividends annually. My plan is to reinvest part of the dividends to maintain the core investment at $10,000 each and use the remaining income to invest in other funds. This approach could help me reach my target portfolio size more quickly. Does this make sense, or is it just an overly optimistic plan?😅

One of the most important things we can do is teach them about finances as you know the school system does teach it to them.

BTCI released at a very good time. I bought a bunch of it when it started trading.

Yes is was good timing. I think having that little % of BTC will help hold the NAV long term. Only going to take my 8% and reinvest the rest.

Hi Brad, Why did you trim GIAX down to 1%? Thanks
@Income_Architect2 ай бұрын
From the math I am seeing they are not make 2% per month as advertise. The appear to be closer to 1% per month. That means 12% of the distribution appears to be destructive ROC. We are catching during massive bull run and it is covering up that really they are just giving you your money back for a large %. I will go with something less destructive over time and safer then a high yield that gives me my money back.

@@Income_Architect Did you trim SPYT due to same issue? Thanks
@benflood14922 ай бұрын
@@jkutchmaI'm curious as well

Yes trimmed them both until we see more data. Take a little risk off. Maybe it’s just a bad month or they’re not making their 0.1 on the spreads.

Nice video brad!!! Was hoping to see your actual portfolio, that would have been good, so we can all see the total returns at face value.... dollar amounts 😊

I share percentages with members. I do not share all the dollars for entertainment. I will do a 500k video again as distributions come in.

NEOS does not as it is almost all ROC. They also sell 1256 contracts that have special taxes. Now all of mine is in IRA and Roth.
