I think the gram bars are very good for people that cannot manage to save enough for a 1/4oz or full oz. Sometimes you can find sales, or deals on the 1g bars that push the premium down to the level of the 1/10th oz coins. Well done video! :-)
@macdonaldbullion Жыл бұрын
Yeah I agree. They’re more suited for those wanting to pay less for gold and can still sell with the premium on top of needs be which I don’t find bad at all. Thank you for watching, I’m hoping to get a 1/10 gold Britannia soon😁

I haven’t gotten into fractional bars. Still more into fractional gold coins. Maybe I should get into bars after this video! LOL! Cheers Josh ✌🏻😊

Haha thanks for watching georgie. They are nice little bars and affordable for people who can’t afford the more expensive gold coins😁

I think any gold is better than no gold. I've yet to be able to afford it, but, I like fractional gold and silver. En masse premiums would not make it practical. But, to those with "something is better than nothing" budgets, I say go for it!
@macdonaldbullion Жыл бұрын
Yeah I agree. They fit my budget but I don’t think I’d go any lower, otherwise I’d be needing a magnify glass to read the writing😂 thanks for watching!

Awesome video, any gold which you can afford is good, 1 gram is better than none, I like 1/4 oz but also have some 1 gram as well, Cheers 👍👍👍

I agree, premiums are high but ultimately you can sell them with that premium aswell so In my opinion I don’t think they’re a bad buy at all. Thanks for watching 😁

In the US. I like fractional gold bars for barter purposes. And it's a comfortable purchase. I also like junk pre 1964 US 90% silver. Also for barter purposes. 1oz government coins are good as well. I look at fractional gold for barter/ purchase of product besides buying eggs or vegetables from a farmer. Also, to pay in getting some kind of job done.

That’s a good way of seeing it, I like collecting a variety of pieces too

While premiums can be painful with the fractionals, they're common practice. So unless you're desperate, you should be able to recover the premiums plus current spot. Also, some have collectability and that can add to the premium over time. When it comes to selling them, Perth, Valcambi, Pamp, RMC, and the Royal Mint don't seem to have any issue selling and retaining value imo. Depends upon the selling platform.
@macdonaldbullion Жыл бұрын
I agree with your point, any gold is good imo it’s all going to retain value and likely to increase over time. Thanks for watching😁

Great vid and channel McDonald bullion. I do hope to invest and almost did this weekend. I realized after the initial purchase on say a 1g bar you'd be 20 quid down straight away trying to sell back. I take it to get premium back we are talking long term or is there an optimum way to sell rather than back to royal mint/ bullion by post for example?

HEY MACB, I was just rewatching this and have a question. Do you leave small fractional pieces like this in the card? Or can you take them out and touch it? What are the implications of that?
@macdonaldbullion Жыл бұрын
Very good question. You can take it out but I know me being me I’ll end up losing it. Keeping it in the card makes it a little easier to sell privately because it’s an authenticated royal mint card and because these have high premium It’s best to leave it in the card. It can’t be opened and closed, it has to be ripped open if you want it out unfortunately

i like collecting different 1g gold bars, i've never lost money on them as gold always goes up in price, as a collector and a stacker i believe collect what you enjoy then its never a waste of money. i have lots of stuff that i wont make a profit on but i wont lose out on either. The 1g bar is so affordable for everyone and makes nice gifts. 1g of gold is better than no gold. Keep up the good work 👍
@macdonaldbullion Жыл бұрын
Yes I totally agree. Any gold or precious metals purchase is never a waste of money. Going out in town and wasting £50 is so that’s why I’ll never turn my nose up at these pieces which makes it affordable for more people to buy😁
@junkeiryan Жыл бұрын
My problem is premium are toooo high and on the chance you can find one for the price of a 1/10 oz coin at that point why not buy the 1/10 oz?🤔 And if you think it will be handy in a SHTF why not just buy silver? Like the different point of view but I just don’t think I’ll be adding any.
@macdonaldbullion Жыл бұрын
Thats no problem it’s all subjective, if you’re interested in low premium gold sovereigns, ducats and francs are like 2% over spot

I don't have any gold bars. But I find that 1g is really too small and the bounty monstrously high. If I had to buy a bar, it would be at least 2.5g, even if it meant saving longer.
@macdonaldbullion Жыл бұрын
Makes sense, these little bars are tiny but you can sell with the premium which means there really not much difference in it. Thanks for watching NC😁
@patrickw6628 Жыл бұрын
Nice video. Good perspective. One could get the premiums back if you sell local or online. Gave my something to think about! I did never buy a 1g bar but you might have changed my opinion. Hope your channel grows. Well deserved 👍
