Actually, they are the new prowlers. If there is a big strike, the EA-18G Growlers are the best jammers.The F-35 can only defend itself, but the growlers can jam radars and destroy them. Some F-18 super hornets carry personal jammers also, just like Air Force F-15EX and F-15E do.

They should have kept the F-14 Super Tomcat. It had the baddest missile ever the Phoenix. And it can carry the same weapon load as a loser F-18. But I don't get why they say they got rid of the f-14s because of their age come on people if you know anything which you probably don't what became the F-18 started life as the yf17 and it confuses against what became the F-16 in the mid-70s send a ticket redid it in the Navy got it to replace the 87 Corsair to which is still better but do you have 18 or basically 60 years old.
