@dy3456713 сағат бұрын
@@StardustLegacyFighter No you were right the first time, I've been following the TV market in developed countries for decades and Panasonic has essentially failed miserably in the developed world along with most other Japanese brands that were comfortable where they were and stopped innovating. Sharp, Sanyo, Toshiba, Panasonic and Sony completely crashed out and burned post CRT during the plasma and LCD races. Sony was the only Japanese company to make a comeback from obscurity during the beginning of the 4K era. The 4K LCD era was dominated by Samsung in the top, mid and low ends with LG being a close competitor and Sony coming in third place with a smaller but dedicated fanbase of the "Sony Colour Science" which referred to Sony's colour calibration of the panel. But Sony gave up their own smart tv software and opted for Google's android TV which was a really poor adaptation of android with a lacklustre user experience. It wasn't until Google finally improved it by launching Google TV (late 2020) as a successor to Android TV that sony had a decent smart TV OS; this likely held back Sony's sales for some time. Funnily it was around this same time (early 2020s) samsung's tizenOS and LG webOS went down the route of shitty full screen home pages leaving behind years of user friendly app bar layouts. So what happened to Japanese brands after they disappeared from retailers in almost every developed country? Well... Not much, they just continued to produce TVs in Japan for the domestic market. They still mostly made TVs that had older design and technology; but in Japan's domestic market, the consumers only ever see the domestic brands and are often unaware of new technologies and brands from overseas. As a matter of fact, even Samsung would be a foreign name in Japan to many people despite being the single biggest electronics company dominating consumer electronics in most of the developed world. This led to a sustained belief in Japan that Japanese brands were still the world-leading technology companies like in the late 90s and early 2000s. Many in Japan still believe Panasonic and Toshiba are world-leading brands but to the rest of the developed world, they're nostalgic brands we haven't seen or heard of in decades. But that's the past and it doesn't mean Japanese brands will remain in limbo forever. Japanese brands have what it takes to return and compete in the Global stage. But the new challenge won't be to compete with the Koreans but both Korean and Japanese brands trying desperately to survive the growing challenge from the Chinese brands. Chinese brands have been catching up in TV technology far too quickly for comfort for the current market leaders and the previously established players have had to give up the lower-end TV market entirely. They're making ground in the mid tier sector and it won't be long before they start making a serious dent in premium TV market also. But as an outside observer, I don't personally care about what company or country makes my TV. In the end, competition and commoditisation of technology helps customers like us.

Caleb, PLEASE ask Panasonic to ONLY send the larger size TVs to you for review this year!! Maybe the OLED in 65 and 77” are the same, but their LCD W95 TVs don’t have the same LDZ etc and ask them to send you the 85” versions please!! 🎉 (I think Panasonic lost out on a lot of 85” W95A sales this year because NO ONE reviewed that size!) 🎉

Sounds great but the reality is the world is moving towards large screen tvs, 98 inch tvs are common these days and panasoinc dont even offer a 83 inch.

The cooling sounds great in theory but as most people buying this level of TV have a full audio system to go with it, the woofer won't be moving any air...
@TheDbduece22 сағат бұрын
sooo outside of the speaker system difference and OS, Panasonic and LG are basically going to be clones of each other?

Processing and colours
@Caleb_Denison22 сағат бұрын
The processing is a pretty big differentiator. LG’s processing is also very good, but between the processing and the OS and the audio, it’s a distinctly different TV with a very distinct Panasonic look that I, for one, happened to enjoy a very much.
@coryglueckert166517 сағат бұрын
Only downside is the fire tv os.guess a streming stick is a must.

They could have removed the woofer altogether to further improve cooling.

Looking for one of these fancy OLEDs for my bedroom
@rbjohnson7822 сағат бұрын
What i would like to see is TV's coming out with no smart functions. Maybe even have a separate box for the smart features. Most OS operating systems are terrible and I use something else instead of the TV apps. Plus if there is an issue with the OS, it takes the entire TV down and you have to reboot it, and some OS's like Google, take forever to boot back up. Let alone when they are up, it still takes some time for them to function fully.
@davidh984421 сағат бұрын
After being sold on the LG C4 77", I actually bought a Samsung QD-OLED S90D 77". I don't have to worry about a Panasonic new tech fancy blue OLED. What I have is astounding enough! Fun review, though

@DigIntoGaming15 сағат бұрын
Why not just put a fan in the tv? I have fans on my tvs powered via the usb port and an on off switch. Manufacturers could easily include automatic fans and they would be so quiet you wouldnt even hear them.
@RONderluck15 сағат бұрын
Yeah, just add more things that could break
@Awhispersecho18 сағат бұрын
Influences and reviewers are way too excited about Panasonic TV's since they came back to the US. It's great to have them back but as long as they are running Fire TV, they are not elite level. No matter how great their picture is.
@Bigheadedwon16 сағат бұрын
Fire tv isn't great but neither are Google or Roku's offering. Google gets more love for the name recognition but I'd never willingly use it. Apple TV > WebOS >>>>> everything else

Seems most people use soundbars or even better, use Home Theater AVR systems. The good sound built in a tv is not very enticing. Picture quality, Size, and Price are though. TCL, LG, Hisense, and Sony are leading the way. Samsung is struggling with consistency. It will be nice to see what Panasonic does. I haven't seen the size with them yet.
