Hey Dave,I have one of these except the M-Sport version. The 2013 only has 400 HP not 445. The 2014 model and newer have the 445 HP engine. For those wondering about AC seats... its only in the front. The cold weather package includes heated front and rear seats as well as a heated steering wheel.

65k with the perfect balance of sport luxury and power bmw engineering runs at 200k miles how it did at 10k miles lets not forget you'll leave almost anything in dust that comes your way with that 4.4 twin turbo v8 very nice car that will last decades I really want one in pearl white with beige interior

side blinds are option on 5 series; those were heated rear seats, comfort seats (ventilated and active seats) are only available for the front seats when you purchase the package, you can also get 4 zone climate control for the rear along with rear entertainment system; the tested car is also missing comfort access with foot sensor truck opener; all 5 come with standard RFT whether with summer or all season tires in either this base trim or M sport trim thus no spare

We honestly find this car to be a PITA. The "sexy" low-profile tires pop all the time, even if they're run flats and all seasons. We've replaced tires on that thing like 2- 4 times a year in Chicago and just gave up driving it much at all since they're so expensive to replace.

Always amazing, how "cheap" those cars are in the US. Even though it is produced here in Germany: The US model has a lot more options as standard than the german model, so with the same fittings as your base-model, we have to pay around 15.000US$ more for the 550ix. And yes, I calculated without taxes and with today's exchange rate.

Personally I think the Genesis lineup is very very competitive to the 5 series the G70 & G80 from Hyundai Genesis are very impressive plus they offer more standard features! BMW unfortunate liability/maintenance history needs more to be desired clearly!

+Anthony Figueroa I don't know why this just popped up today. I did buy a new car, a WRX STI + 20K in mods after that. All the 550i's I saw had issues. For my 2nd car I ended up getting a '12 Audi A6.. then did APR Stage 2 even though pricey and got it up to 448hp. Perfect sleeper luxury car. ;) I loove the look of it and how sophisticated it looks. People that ride in it love it too. A new red t-top Stingray Z51 is next.

Definitely doesn't have cooled rear seats on this model. Just heated, with more option box's checked though you can. As well as having 4 climate zones. So the people in the back can choose their temp individually on either side.

I am glad we can agree to disagree. But I think you are wrong in your analysis of the new 2014 CTS interior. It is not plasticity as you describe. It is quite opulent with premium finishes. All real wood, premium leather seating services and enough high tech to blow the mind of even the pickiest techno geek. Might you have been referring to the bland or as you say contemporary fit and finish of the i550? Hmmm. Give me the Caddy All Day. The German imports should be very afraid. BTW I think you may want to re visit your numbers on the Quarter mile times. I guess depending on what site you reference the outcome is different.

Are you referring to the Vsport with the turbo V6 or the V with supercharged V8?

The VSport V-6 turbo , 440 HP 0-60 in 4.4 seconds. The V with the new body style had not come out yet. I think that one will be a 2015 model with over 600 HP.

***** A better test of speed is the quarter mile. The V-sport does it in 13.1 @ 108. This 550i Xdrive does it in 12.8 @ 112. I'd take this all day over the Caddy. The Caddy is nice, though, without a doubt.

You could certainly say the VSport has more panache. The interior has shiny and chrome plasticky pieces all over. I'll gladly take the 550i's classic beauty that hasn't changed much on the inside in about 20+ years. Well, I'd really take both. I'm just glad we are having this conversation and Caddy gave the 5 some serious competition. Caddy/GM has a winning formula in their suspensions.
