We just bought a 2014 FWD Journey 6 weeks ago. Very happy with it. We are averaging 21.3 mpg combined with about 75% street driving. We were looking at the Durango but I already have an old Ramcharger as my 4x4 toy and boat/car hauler. The Journey gave us the 3rd row with out the extra size do our oldest kid gets peace from the two younger siblings. Very comfortable seating, fun drive for what it is, the Pentastar has great power. If they put the 9 speed they are planning in this the mpg will come up. But compared to our old 2006 Explorer it's great. The ford averaged 16mpg.

Went to the dealership to get a Journey, came home with a Durango. Same engine, different transmission and more modern trim and look on the D. The third row on the Journey isnt that roomy, and adult wouldnt be able to sit back there comfortably. On our Durango, you can easily sit back there with room in front of your knees and above your head. FYI, the Durango is built on the Mercedes Gl platform.

For an old design the Journey isn't bad, especially for the money. I can see why the Fiat version sells well in Europe.

So ive decided on getting a used dodge journey. For my price range it makes the most sense. My question is whether I should wait for the release of the new 2020 redesign Dodge journeys. Will that drop the price of the used Dodge journeys even more or should I go ahead and purchase one today?

C'mon guys, you guys need to take vehicles to a REAL off road course. It doesn't have to be a Rubicon trail out in the majeve area or something, but c'mon guys, a Camry or a Corolla, or even a Mini can drive on those flat dirt roads with no problem. Your off road reviews lately are starting to look The Fastlane Car's silly "off-road" reviews. Other than that good job! your reviews are much more objective and informative than the fat clowns at The Fastlane car.

It seems like a nice CUV. The price is right and Chrysler often offers deep discounts on these. I've heard the reliability is not very good though and the fuel economy on every version of the Journey is abysmal. You can't drive the thing without keeping it fueled, so that's a big fail for me.

The gas mileage would be higher but remember it is awd and the journey is really a highway vehicle you'll be avg almost thirty on the interstate

yeah i agree with you Trenton Thomas , my 2012 dodge journey V6 L gets 28 MPG highway runing @ 75 miles per Hr. on highway 64 NM. love my journey.

95 percent of Americans who buy suvs or crossovers never take them off road. This video is useless. They buy them for the comfort, room for family, safety, and cargo space. The Dodge Journey has plenty of power,features, and room for the family. It drives well and a fully loaded used one is a big value and at a bargain price. I picked up a 2017 Dodge Journey Crossroad All Wheel Drive at Hertz Auto Sales that has leather,sport tuned suspension,a premium sound system, and 40,000 miles for 16 grand. A seven passenger vehicle that looks cool, performs well, nicely loaded, with low miles for under 20k. That's a deal and a half. Buy them used and go for the RT or Crossroad. Nicer suspension and cooler wheels. The only thing mine does not have is navigation. I just use my phone. No big deal. My sons love it more than my wife's car which is an Audi. Go figure.

I imagine this trim line enhances overall quality (perhaps). I cant imagine taking my SXT offroad.. its doesn't take bumps very well at all. Steering is loose and choppy.. mediocre car IMO. Grocery getter at best.

Thanks Dave...I've been researching the 2014/2015 Durango Citadel AWD V-6 for my 50th birthday selfie gift. I've heard the rumors that 2015 will be the last year for the Durango, since Chrysler-Jeep-Fiat will be discontinuing the model. Apparently Jeep wants to build it's own 3rd row Grand Cherokee in 2017 under the revived Grand Wagoneer nameplate.

Dodge Journey 2014 is just a trash. My sister bought one almost 2 years ago and the vehicle since new started giving problems. The vehicle simple stop working out of nothing. The dealer thru this two years has been unable to fix it. Now they are rejecting my sister's complain saying it is her fault. I WILL NEVER EVER RECOMEND THIS PIECE OF TRASH TO ANYBODY. When mys sister bought this vehicle I told her that dodge has very bad reviews, problem with transmition, etc. beside we had another dodge which also has been a pile or problems and waste of money. Reply
