Excellent review, Orange is such a Happy looking colour and this Crosstrek will be a hit with #CUV = 4x4 against the new Rogue Sport. I had a '88 LE sedan Subaru in Montreal winter's ¬ even 12" of snow could stop it in its tracks. Subaru is showing up more and more in the #Overland Vlogs for it's dependability and off-road abilities. Thank you from Vancouver Island Canada. 🚙

I recently bought a 2018 Crosstrek and I like it. It serves it's purpose. I wanted a vehicle that is AWD and will get about 30 mpg. I knew I wasn't going to break any records for speed and that's fine. That's what my RAM 1500 with the HEMI is for. The one thing I am not happy with is the Starlink entertainment system. I know it got an upgrade for 2018 but it's still slow and glichy. The U Connect works way better. Subaru has to do a better job with voice recognition, bluetooth connection, and the way it indexes mp3. An example is if you wanted to play a full album from a thumbdrive and commanded the Starlink system to play it, Starlink will not play the album in track order like it should, but will play the songs in alphabetical order. Since Subaru Technical Support was no help at all, I found a solution on the web and that was to create playlists for the albums using Microsoft Media Player. Starlink didn't recognize playlists from I-Tunes. That's not good when you got over 800 albums! And as I said before, the voice recognition although alright, could be a little better. Final complaint is just recently the Starlink system did not recognize the command to make a cellphone call. The system kept asking me "what type of music I wanted it to play", are you kidding me? It took a complete shutdown of my car for 5 minutes to solve the issue. Some might say that you should not expect everything out of a $30000 vehicle, but there are other manufacturers that are doing a better job in the entertainment field. Subaru markets it's product to a young tech savvy crowd and with that, they should cross there "t's" and dot their "i's" on everything

Not a bad crossover....However, Some of the competitors that haven't been recently refreshed are giving big incentives. The real out the door price can be thousands and thousands less. Some like the Honda hrv are not as capable off road but are ok on the road and are a little cheaper too.. The Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is just as good off road and the real OTD price is thousands less and has a better warranty. If you don't need all that "car is driving for you safety stuff".....Save the money.and get the Honda or Mitsubishi. If the Subaru rings your bell and you like to have the most recently updated vehicle...Spend the extra. You really can't go wrong with any of them. Remember though, Off road the Mitsubishi and the Subaru are better than the crossovers from the other guys.

drink15 actually around 2019 Subaru is projecting to implement their new FB16 DIT engine on all their base models in the US. Better torque and better mileage.
@subazealand91587 жыл бұрын
Where did you read that? As I read time ago that the DIT engine in the Levorg, doesn't fit in the new platform..
@carlmanu7 жыл бұрын
+Baltazar Campos Nieto Yes I'm aware the Levorg is different platform but do you really think Subaru spent time and money developing the FB16 engine to just use it on one model? No. Trust me, 2019.
@subazealand91587 жыл бұрын
Yes, make sense your point, but "mistakes" happens. I heard in 2 different places that DIT engines doesn't fit the new platform. Levorg was launched on 2015, and the 1.6 DIT we haven't seen it in any other model. In Australia, when they were talking about the new XV/Crosstrek and they tested in Japan, one of the comments it was the lack of power, and the Japaneses says there was nothing on mind at that stage and the small DIT it won't fit in the new XV/Crosstrek either... I believe Subaru will do something, to re-adapt the engine in this new platform, but I don't believe it will be the same engine. 2019 makes sense, it will be the year maybe for the new Levorg as well, as already got the facelift. New generation, new engine ;)
