I have been watching your videos for sometime now and I think this is the first time I have ever commented (for same). However, I wanted to say that the contents have either gotten better or I am understanding more based on where I am in my trading journey, or its both. Whatever the case, the structural breakdown of each playbook setup + the defined reasons to sell + the time frame + taking profits along the way, has provided an excellent blueprint to following if one is interested in process and not just PnL. After 2 years, I think I am starting to see the light. Thank you bigly Jeff~

Ha! I have the same issue. I have a very high accuracy rate and tend to not let my winners run. However, as a result my losses are very small. A solution i have found is to take profit, put a stop at breakeven and let a partial size exposed.

Solid plan!

Nice one, it reminds of the 80/20 rule , take 80 percent off the table either at break even or first profit target and let the rest run if it goes higher till 2 or 3 Rs and if let it stop me out at my stop loss

Particularly liked this overview because of it's focus on creating/developing a defined strategy for own 'playbook' trades.

I don’t know what it is about this video because SMB has always put forth this mindset but this video really made me think about all aspects of my strategies and testing out the specifics to create a good playbook. I have just been doing what works for me but I never took a deep dive into what I’m doing because when it works it works but I want to define what I’m doing and why I’m doing it, specifically.

It would be useful if the very first slide had a date on it. This is useful in any kind of presentation and a good practice to keep.

I'm curious as to what the rvol was on this. Especially in the drive at the open and how that may relate to atr and atr times x.

@JGetsDown more expertise, have a second pair of eyes and of course knowledge it think is a key. Knowledge that probably I still don’t have! I guess what I am trying to say is the feedback part that I am missing.

Good work Gents. The guidance raise was the catalyst as the earnings' beat is not as important. Thanks!

Yes guidance raise would likely have a bigger impact

Love the content guys. Thank you for this. Random unrelated question. I’m studying finance and recently learned about proprietorship vs partnership vs corporations. Why is SMB a proprietorship? Doesn’t SMB stand for the 3 names of the guys who started it? Would it not be a partnership then? I’m definitely missing something…
@bobbush68162 жыл бұрын
your missing the fact that a name is just a name...a legal structure on the other hand is something quite different but a name is still just a name

Can someone explain watching RVOL and predicting the ATR? My main strategy is based on hitting 70% of the daily ATR, but I have trades thst run 2 times the daily ATR sometimes. I have not figured out how to predict those extended ATR days.

There's gotta be a statistical way to calculate this in excel

One has to wonder how much better this play would be if it included the quality of the EPS beat. EPS beats based on profit growth (as compared to stock buybacks, meaning lowering the denominator) may be more meaningful, but I don't know this as fact.
