I agree, this show is really underrated. As soon as I listened to the cast recording and watched the television event on Nick, I immediately fell in love with the show. Everything in it is near perfect(scenic design, songs, characters, etc.). I would love for Kat to do a video on Spongebob the Musical because of how underrated the show it is. It deserves to be more recognized as much as the other popular shows.

Qotd: Elisabeth!!!! It's a German musical about empress sisi. It's dark gothic and romantic and this show is pretty huge in Europe and I wish they made a Broadway production of it. One musical I would love to see you talk about is Rag Dolly/Raggedy Ann on Broadway! It's not well known because well, for a while, it was considered lost media! The show closed after FIVE DAYS due to complaints about the dark themes not being suitable for children. We're talking death and su*cide dark. A cast album was never released and all we have is a bootleg and a demo recording, but the history behind the show is incredibly interesting! It was original created as part of a culture exchange program headed by Patricia Snyder between the US and Russia. The original cast even did a tour in Moscow before Broadway where they sang in both English AND Russian. Besides Patricia there were a handful of big names attached to the flop, including Sesame Street composer Joe Raposo and writer William Gibson of Miracle Worker fame.

STARLIGHT EXPRESS!! It's my favorite musical and no one knows about it and it makes me really sad. It's by ALW and its just a fever dream and its great. To summarize, the show's about a boy who plays with his trainset before he goes to bed. When he goes to bed, he dreams that his trainset comes to life to see who's the "fastest engine in the world." It also has a bit of a romance subplot with a the protagonist, a steam engine named Rusty, wants to win the heart of a the new girl in town in an observation car named Pearl. It's entirely on roller skates and its so corny, I love it. Seriously, someone cast me as Dinah, please. I wanna be a cinnamon roll dining car that an emotional wreck. Also, OMG I LOVE LIZZIE!! I listened to it because of you and OMG ITS SO GOOD, ITS SO GAY OMG I LOVE IT SOMEONE CAST ME AS ALICE!!!!

I’m utterly in love with the mad ones!! I was hooked since the first time I heard Ben’s run away with me, and when the full cast recording came out I was absolutely struck. It’s so raw and human and beautifully written and sung, and the cast is phenomenal-it just. is my soul (also, tuck everlasting is MASSIVELY underrated and the story of winnie foster is one of the most beautiful pieces of dance storytelling ever made) ALSO GREAT COMET. It’s well known but the world needs to appreciate it more, there’s a divinity in it unlike anything else, the interactivity makes it exactly the kind of theatre I want to create (not to mention that I’d give anything to play natasha)

I love so much about Tuck Everlasting and no one I know appreciates it nearly as much as I do. From the composition (I play flute in pit orchestra and love all the woodwind parts) to the story, I think it just works so well as a musical and deserves so much more hype than it gets!
