Smart move! I live in Toronto and Canada is no longer the Canada of 20-year ago and it can't go back. I'll also move to China in a few years.

You’re totally right! Not just Canada as a whole, but Toronto itself doesn’t feel the same way it used to only just over the past 5-7 years. So much has changed. I’ll always respect where I came from, but China is the much more appealing option 🙏🏻🎉 I think you’re making a good choice too!

I had been in Toronto for 15 years till I moved to Quebec 3 years ago. We have multiple young kids so moving abroad is not really an option for now. I agree with your over all observation, although Quebec is much less impacted in some (just some) aspects compared to Ontario and BC. Also Canada being too close to the US led to quite some stupid political decisions which ended up shooting itself in the foot.

@@jinniwind Not just BC and Ontario, but Alberta is also bad. You are right about Canada being too close to the US making Canada losing its independence sovereignty and independence decision making, and Canada has no good leaders. I am so envious of those who leaving Canada to be able to move to China 🇨🇳

This park that you are walking through is absolutely beautiful. There is nothing like that in Toronto. Canada has become a haven for the third world looking to escape to a better place. Unfortunately, that has brought in homelessness, unemployment and crime. I want to retire in China if I could take my kids with me.

It's a kind of sarcastic that I had watched a video of a KZbinr Willene moved from China to Canada recently, and then I watch yours. For whatever reason people moving to another country, they are just looking for a better life and opportunities. You will probably get a job at your specialist as a graphic designer while China is developing so rapidly. Welcome to China and hope you have a great time here.

Good move bro. New environments and travelling always is not only mind-expanding, it’s also about personal growth. Life’s an adventure, and so many of us fall into the same old rut, living life like Groundhog Day, same old street, same old town for our whole lives. As for the content style, don’t sweat it, many people are more interested in seeing life in a different place from a first-person perspective because it places us in a different environment from our own day-to-day, and often many don’t have the means to travel, so placing oneself in different street/city/land-scapes is escapist.

Thank you! I totally agree with you on that view. I just can’t imagine life, staying in the same comfortable situation. There is so much value in different environments and learning different world views.

I grew up in Canada, been here 42 years? i can speak Cantonese at a low junior high level, can't read or write Chinese....and definitely can't speak Mandarin other than Nihao and Xiexie. I have thought about my future in Canada and it isn't bright. FYI, i have a Vietnamese friend who stumble onto a teaching job while traveling 2 years ago in Vietnam, and never looked back. My only concern is job and language if I even attempt to go to China. Really frustrated my parents never taught me Mandarin when they can also speak the language.

How about have a trip to China first and have a feel for it first. Most foreign English teachers don’t speak fluent Chinese anyway. Or you could target guangdong province where Cantonese is appreciated and frequently used (especially in smaller cities , not like shenzhen). Cantonese at junior high level is good enough to get by on a daily basis.

@@1.4billion65 lol, I have a traditional Chinese tiger mom, English wasn't even emphasized growing up, as if i don't need it for my future...and now i understand it pretty much why it's the same with Mandarin, wasn't seen as golden as Cantonese when Hong Kong was the financial centre...or maybe it's because my mother spoke Cantonese growing up. Also, I don't know a word of Fujianese, since this is my father's ancestry.

I was fascinated by canada's natural scenery. I really want to travel to canada, but when I was making a travel guide, I found some videos showing that there are many drug addicts and homeless people in Canada. Are there only a few cities with such problems? Is it okay to just avoid a few cities?
