Simple, cheap and quick recipe with old buns or baguettes stuffed with egg, green onion, cheese and any sausage or meat you have at hand. Ingredients (2 servings):
• 4 buns of 60 g each. You can also use small or large baguettes
• 4 eggs
• 2-3 green onions
• About 100 g of cheese, or a mix of cheeses (left overs)
• 50-60 g cured or cooked meat, whatever you have on hand
• Salt
• Freshly ground black pepper
• A little hot paprika
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius / 356 degrees Fahrenheit. For the electric oven I chose a program with heat up and down, plus fan.
Cut a lid into buns and remove most of the core.
Grate the cheese and finely chop the green onion.
We break the eggs in a bowl, add a little salt, freshly ground black pepper, a pinch of hot paprika, grated cheese and finely chopped green onions. Mix.
Fill the buns with this composition and add the pieces of meat on top. Whatever you have or whatever you prefer. You can also put diced leftover steaks or fried sausage leftovers from other meals.
Place on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and place in the oven. Baking takes about 15 minutes. (Remember, ovens are different from each other and can take a little longer or less at home!)
I am ready when the composition is no longer liquid and the surface is browned. Be careful if you cut them hot melted cheese may give you the impression that they are unripe in the middle. It is best to let them cool for 10 minutes before eating!
