NDAs are actually completely standard in this industry, as are non-compete clauses (which for what it's worth are good for a maximum of 2 years but are more commonly only execitable for six months to a year). I worked at a small post house in CT, had both an NDA and a non-compete, worked at ESPN for almost a decade, had an NDA there too. People think these things are uncommon because they have no idea how important things like Intellectual Property are to a brand. Typical uninformed people crying foul over things they don't understand.

I can unfortunately completely relate to that. My parents split when i was about 8 years old and my father was only ever allowed to come to the front door to give me and my little sister our x-mas/birthday cards. We were told that my father was an evil man and it was all his fault. We got brain washed into believing this narrative. Fast forward 30+ years and both myself and my sister are extremely close to our father and i have not seen my mother in about 20 years. My sister does visit her but only for the sake of her getting to see her grandson. I'm the same way, except when I saw the edited Ring footage, I didn't let my emotions dictate my judgement on what happened. My father was abusive to my mother and was a drug addict for most of my childhood and didn't get clean until I was 16. My mother also antigonized my father knowing he was unstable, even following him around or asking people which drug house he was at. Despite my less than favorable upbringing, I still looked at this entire debacle objectively. There's simply too many assumptions being made with zero evidence. Some might say, "why not cite all of your receipts?" As if there aren't legal precedence for not revealing information relating to ongoing court cases. Maybe think critically before fabricating a knee jerk response. Could Steven be a monster? Sure, but a purposefully edited video from a home security camera is not evidence of that.
