I find it astonishing that Foundational Black Americans are labeled as practitioners of "colorism," despite being the only faction within the diaspora that advocates for a unified notion of flat Blackness. In the past, we did not differentiate ourselves from other Black communities, but after facing backlash from other ethnic groups for our collective identity, we have opted to assert our distinctiveness.
@blackblaze52712 ай бұрын
The reason is because she's not black. It's not just black americans but as an african i reject it as well because i keep seeing the confused american idea of "blackness" continuously being pushed on africans and the rest of the world. Kamala has not live the Black- American experience. For example, I lived in Miami in the 80’s. Many of the black- American kids in my neighborhood did not know how to swim, even though we lived less than 5 miles from the ocean. The reason of Jim Crow laws would not allow generations to go to the beach or the local swimming pool. That is a Black- American experience what has shaped the Black- American culture.
@hdlc46352 ай бұрын
Swimming skills are learned, not inherited. By the 80s, the kids should’ve been signed up for lessons

You "NEED TO RESEARCH AGAIN guy". KAMALA'S father is "half IRISH" & "half HINDU INDIAN". And her mother is 100% HINDU INDIAN. ALSO, THE INDIAN ANCESTRY IN the middle east you will SEE THAT INDIANS HAVE A HUGE DIVERSE COLOR OF SKIN (with most straight black hair). Some of the INDIANS in that part of the world have "light skin, medium, dark, & SOME black skin", but they are INDIAN NOT BLACK. And they will tell you or CORRECT YOU THAT THEY ARE NOT BLACK. "GET IT"? "COMPRENDES"?? 🤨🫣
