More than the destruction, what's impressive is how the debris act. There's really a lot of small pieces and dust flying everywhere. In Battlefield for example you can destroy stuff on a bigger scale but the debris stay for 2 seconds then they disappear, this is much more realistic. This type of destruction is what I would want from Rainbow Six Siege 2.

WAYY BEFORE CONTROL WAS EVEN THOUGHT OF. WAYYYYYYYYY WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY BEFORE TEARDOWN WAS EVEN A CONCEPT. RED FACTION GUERILLA WAS LITERALLY THE ONLY GAME IN FUCKING EXISTENCE AT THE TIME THAT HAD 100 FULLY DYNAMIC PHYSICS BASED DESTRUCTION. SURE, RFG MAY NOT HAVE AS MANY VARYING DIFFERENT OBJECTS TO DESTROY, MAY NOT HAVE HAD PROCEDURAL DESTRUCTION BUT LITERALLY, I REPEAT, LITERALLY STILL EVERY MANMADE STRUCTURE WAS LITERALLY 100% DESTRUCTIBLE PIECE BY PIECE, ASIDE FROM JUST ONE SUPER LARGE SKYSCRAPER that had indestructible metal supports, obviously due to console hardware limitations. RFG came out in 2009! It is very fucking clear, that rfg is responsible for the birth of the physics destruction trend. It is damn near CRIMINAL THAT NO ONE EVER GIVES ANY CREDIT TO THAT GAME when praising physics destruction. it flew over everyone's head. so why all of a sudden ppl just now think that physics destruction is this *BRAND NEW* HOLY GRAIL OF GAMING?!? Just Look at how every other physics destruction based game turned out. ppl are gonna fucking complain that the destruction is too *REPETITIVE*, that there are not enough russians to shoot with coddy guns. It's gonna get buried underground just like quantum break, just like rfg, just like wreckfest. Mark my words.

It think the walking and sprinting animations are a little bit too “floaty”. They should’ve made it so that it’s faster and has some more weight to it. I also think they should’ve polished the guns somewhat more, they feel boring and stale. No casings ejecting, no reload animations, very simple designs, etc. Anyway, my stupid pet peeves aside, the destruction looks amazing.

You don't need a nvidia gpu to run physX. It can be processed by CPU. But 15 fps on consoles in the current state so it's not feasible by any means.

It's really infuriating how young ppl these days are only JUST NOW being impressed by dynamic physics destruction in control, when the technology has already existed over TEN YEARS AGO IN A BEAUTIFUL GAME CALLED RED FACTION GUERILLA BACK IN 2008. SURE, RED RFG DIDN'T HAVE AS MANY VARIED THINGS TO DESTROY (mostly just manmade structures) AND IT WASN'T AS LARGE SCALE. BUT THE POINT IS IT HAD THIS SAME EXACT DYNAMIC 100% DYNAMIC PHYSICS AND STRESSED BASED DESTRUCTION ENGINE! IN FACT, IN SOME WAYS RFG WAS BETTER! IN RFG, LITERALLY, AND I MEAN LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE OBJECT, STRUCTURE, VEHICLE, AND MANMADE OBJECT IN THE WORLD IS COMPLETELY DESTRUCTIBLE! LITERALLY THE ONLY THING THAT CAN'T BE DESTROYED IN RFG IS THE TERRAIN. LITERALLY EVERYTHING ELSE COULD BE COMPLETELY LEVELED TO THE GROUND. In control, you can clearly see that only *SOME* objects can be completely destroyed and most can only be *partially* *destroyed*. So credit is dreadfully due to the game that literally birthed the entire genre. That's RFG. If it weren't for the success of rfg's impressive destruction physics engine that existed WAYYYYYY before even the xbone and ps4 were even thought of, games like these never would have been conceived.
