Love Brennan. His capacity for impromptu monologues is terrifying

So I am a superfan of Brennen Lee Mulligan. I swear that man was grown in a lab to be the best DM of all time; Reasons in list form... 1:Been playing DND and Tabletop Games, including being the game master since age 11. 2:Been Larp around the same amount of time and became a game master of the larp camp which he still works at when he gets the chance. 3:The man has degrees in screenwriting as well as philosophy. 4:Was in improv with both UCB (Upright Citizens Brigade) an organization that produced Donald Glover, Ellie Kemper, Ed Helms, and Kate McKinnon, and also taught improv for a while. 5:his mom, Elaine Lee and actress, writer, playwright, producer, and all-around cool lady. All a recipe for an absolutely talented and magnificent person. Much hearts for that man.

4.) Brennan has a deep well of knowledge. This allows him to help others build off his DM'ing because he's able to connect with everyone at the table with a multitude of subjects, topics, accents, history, etc. Example. Calamity explaning invisibility in how you can't go fully transparent because light needs to reach your rods and cones in your eye or you'd be blind.

They're called dropout now because that's the streaming service they made while they were still called collegehumor, where dimension 20 premiered on! It's not a youtube DND show but it just has a large amount of its content on youtube, with ALL of it on dropout.

"Unbridled Praise Fest" Don't worry, Brennan deserves it. I know he belongs on D20 and does the most good there, but I sincerely wished he did more skits for KZbin. Or hell, even Dropout. Dude could have a show.

Been following D20 for years. Honestly, i would say that understanding him as a DM leveled up my game. Love your stuff, look fwd to your videos!

When College Humor went under because the media company that owned them cut them loose the only person they retained on the payroll from the NY office was BLeeM. He has a philosophy degree he got as a teenager and the summer camp he mentions being a counselor for (Wayfinder LARP Camp) he designed one of their major outreach/advertising things, The Wayfinder Experience; essentially a oneshot larp for people to see what it's like that has a slight discount on the week long sleepover camp attached to it if you sign up. He did this as a teenager as well.

Well you actually have the first point reveresed. Brennan gave an interview to the 99 Questions podcast where he attributes his improv skills to his his years and years of d&d and LARP. He told a story about him and his brother playing d&d everyday for months.

Great video Cam! I have never watched an online D&D series but have watched a few clips. Can you recommend a good starter series to watch - looking more for entertainment than inspiration. Story over technical. Thanks!
@RoguesRollCall-Cam11 ай бұрын
Thanks Matthew! Absolutely I can. It'll depend on what type of fantasy you like, but here's some recommendations that I think are great for entertainment. Critical Role's second campaign (Mighty Nein) had some of the best character stories I've seen in D&D - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKrZkmOehM9rebc Dimension 20's Starstruck, if you like sci-fi, this is a SUPER fun campaign - kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHqalI19lLeijas Dimension 20's Unsleeping City if you like mystery - kzbin.info/www/bejne/aHzOpaqXZdCkl7c Dragon Empire, great DM and still pretty new so would be easy to catch up on - kzbin.info/www/bejne/jKPbZoerqpmrpK8 I hope this helps :)

I’ve been enjoying Brennan as a DM more than Matt these days. I love Matt’s descriptions but after 2 campaigns I get tired of filler descriptions and his campaigns just seem drawn out. I feel like crit role could use a little more railroading. On Brennan’s side I’m always sad that the campaigns are so short. I can never get enough.
@RoguesRollCall-Cam9 ай бұрын
Absolutely! I think what makes Brennan so great is that he is very different to Matt, but they both excel in different ways

She absolutely does, she's on my list :D
@chriskuhn613010 ай бұрын
I gotta say, she's fun as a PC, but as a DM I just can't. She's got a tendency to be rude and controlling to her PCs, and overly invested in her ideas, which just leaves a Splenda like taste in my mouth.
