Yeah, I think they should stick with the current map size. But the location is very crucial especially if they want to build upon it like Motorsport. The Map needs to have good driving roads and elevation. And the environment needs to feel alive and social. I know people want a big city for that reason. Unfortunately I think Off-roading will need to take a back seat. Not that it needs to be gone completely. But maybe not as important as the other stuff. Oh and of course a long highway, long airstrip/drag strip are a must.

biggest thing that bores me about Forza is that the maps always felt a little small in scale, when the games launch and you play for the first time it feels big because its all new but after a week it feels kind of the same the more you drive around the roads the more it starts feeling the same. Something that would make it fun for me would be the ATS or ETS2 map with the Forza formula, just put those maps in forza and that'd be the perfect game to me as those maps are extremely massive.

2 things: 1- I kinda want to put drive type (FWD, RWD, AWD) restrictions in events. 2-I also want the game to ACTUALLY WORK PROPERLY. I cannot tell you how many times the game has crashed for no reason, and why I randomly get kicked from events or multiplayer

While having Japan and insane customization is what we all want. I also really hope they step back from whatever this trend is they've been doing with the story since FH4. I don't like when I talk about FH5 I have to say "BUT the 'story' is embarrassing and pointless, and mute the voices". I want to go back to the FH1 era where they actually had fun with the story and put effort into bringing the players on a journey. The cutscenes, the radio interviews, the atmosphere, etc.

Sadly, that is going to be very Difficult, Microsoft has *Mandated* a PEGI 3 Age Rating for all Future Forza Games, and it is very difficult to do an actual story at that Rating.

I'm going to say something. Test drive unlimited. This game was truly ahead of its time. Released in 2006 and to this day has more details and features than any forza game. The customization was minimal. Although it did still at least allow us to change the interior colours. But apart from almost no upgrades it was ahead of its time and makes forza look lazy

Those features, several of which weren't relevant to a racing game in any way, came at a cost though. Multiplayer was very broken and buggy for long after launch, way before it was 'fashionable' for devs to release that way. The driving physics were also not exactly great, even for it's time. It was ahead of it's time in some ways but lacking in other, more important ones. Forza is way ahead of TDU these days in the area that matters - the racing.

Gta has the best car customisation out of any “racing game” nfs included. that just says it all really. Even though they are not real life cars or real life body parts the fact you can change literally every body panel on your car in most gta cars (newer added cars) bucket seats, full roll cages or half cage optional, steering wheels, carbon stripped interior dash etc, boost guages, headlight colour, skirts, bumpers, vented hoods, custom engine bays, air suspension cans and sound systems, splitters, spoilers, mud flaps, the new stanced suspension. Literally anything you can think of doing to modify your car you can do in gta

I think the main thing in Horizon is location, and I have to think that sooner or later that blackshark ai from MSFS is going to find its way to Horizon, a few (potentially expanding) select locations given the bespoke treatment and a wide range of ai generated environments. Something like that.

I Agree, Ultimately, Germany is Perfect for Horizon, the Car was Invented there, their real life Car Culture is very Similar to the Horizon Car Culture, they go mad for Music Festivals, the location has most of what the Community wants, Winding Mountain and Valley Roads, Wide Open Farmland, Flat Out Motorway, Modern Cities, Wild Rugged Coasts, Proper F1 Grade Race Tracks, Germany is a Painfully Obvious Choice should Horizon Return to Europe.

I don't think FH6 will be just FH like with Forza Motorsport. For FM it is track based and most tracks are real life tracks that don't change over time. FH is much more localized, so I think it will continue getting new games with new locations. Not everybody is focused on customization. I'm not. I can enjoy customization, but exploration and racing are what I'm in it for.

honestly i love fh5 expansions, i think they especially did a great job with the rally expansion.. also when i compare fh4 vs fh5 i notice that fh4 seems to have a lot more height differences which is epic for rally and stuff.. i think they did that a lot less in fh5 to make the map easier for the eliminator... so controversial opinion maybe but i think that the map could be a ton better if the eliminator just was not kept in mind. way more diversity, more dense and more height differences through the map. what do you guys think? ofc it's a sacrifice of a gamemode but i do not feel like that many ppl play it.

I don't think we are getting a huge change on the Horizon formula, as it has been well established and it has found an acceptable place between casual players and hardcore fans, but one can definitely expect massive improvements that would help the game without changing it too much, after all, we don't need a need for speed when we already have need for speed (the customization i expect is an overhaul on Forza Aero, exhausts and maybe certain OEM parts) The most important things PGG should definitely improve on is not only customization, but car models quality (specially on the worst cases/examples like the Silvia S15), map, progression and online system, again, without altering them in a way that doesnt feel like Horizon.

I play both the Crew2 and FH5, on the Crew 2 I don´t care about car costumization at all, the maximum I do in both games is to get liveries on cars, I don't really care of exterior costumization, or underglows, or som stupid thing pinned in the roof of the car, or nitro colors. Motorsport took that long a break because of coding for the new engine. Horizon won't need that as the new engine already exists for them. Also, Fable is being developed by a completely separate dev team, it'll have no impact on the next Horizon. It'll be in development even if it's only in the early pre-production stages. Development starts long before a single line of code is written. They have to pick and scout locations, get any permissions, renew or get car licenses etc and all that takes a long time.

i think they will not do a built from the ground up, as horizon 5 got so many downloads from game pass and brought lots of new subscribers so they wouldn't want to risk losing out on the massive revenue. they were able to do it with motorsport as that game kind of was dying and wasn't a game for the masses to the extent of horizon. anyway if they were to make a ground up game, it would be on the next gen consoles (successors to series x/s in 2027 or 2028) so it makes little sense to release a ground up game now for 2026.

Yeah I’ll take more customization nothing wrong with that. The real thing that FH6 is gonna have to change though is the core game itself. The current way showcases and advancements in the story are set up doesn’t feel rewarding. I’m not sure how they could do it but maybe intertwine the Horizon stories, Showcase Events and the street racing bosses for a story closer to a FH or FH2 style would probably be more fulfilling. I think another thing that would help is the garage idea where you could buy player homes for what they currently used for as well as garages where you can customize cars and invite other players to view cars listed in your favorites (probably 12-24 max? For loading time purposes). Idk if it would be possible or rewarding but make set up an in lobby event that allows player to basically have a car show. I know we have the areas set aside from it but I rarely saw anyone using it in my time on FH5. Idk but that’s just a few things I thought about listening to this. Also I hope PGG can add back the 2013 ZL1 and 2016 Chevy SS and add the 2017 HSV GTSR, 2024 Colorado and Silverado ZR2s, 2023 Dodge Ram TRX.

They can re-add them, yes, as they had them in Horizon 3, but will only be able to do them , as in FH3, in areas they can block off with "Invisible walls" (disguised by immovable Bollards and Pillars like FH3) due to the Strict Requirements of the PEGI 3 Rating that Microsoft made *Mandatory* for all Future Forza Games back in 2019. The Code is there, as are the Animations, they just need to work out where to place the Invisible Walls to put the Pedestrians behind.

@@danialmcfarland3888 The weather is atrocious, it rains near non stop, grey and depressing with no Traction for Racing, like FH4 in Winter but 100 Times worse! It is choked in Traffic so it is very difficult to Drive Fast as you just keep slamming into Jams! absolutely Frustrating! The Toque Roads have been Ruined by New Surfaces Purpose Designed to Shred Your Tyres if you Exceed 60 KM/H! The Roads are far too narrow for the Slow Response time and Inaccurate input of a Controller! making them an Exercise in sheer frustration due to the car just pinballing off the walls, and they are near impossible to overtake on. It is going to have very few Landmarks as Japan's Laws do NOT have a Fair use Clause, most of the Landmarks are Privately owned, and most their owners are Hostile to the West and thus will not grant Permission for them to be Replicated in the Game. Big Urban Jungles depress Me, and to be honest, I doubt they could even do them as the old Forzatech M Graphics engine Struggles with Skyscrapers (even Series X loses Frames in Surfers Paradise in FH3, so it is clearly an Engine issue!) and I am not sure the F-Tech Engine (a Spaghetti Code Technical Disaster that barely even boots even on Console!) would even be able to render a city at all without crashing when it cannot even render a race-track without crashing! The Car Companies, many of whom (Including Toyota) now Forbid Illegal Street Racing and Extreme Customization in their Licensing Deal's due to the Damage such things are doing to their Sales and PR Images in China and the Middle East, now Vital Markets, will not allow the Japanese Car Culture to be Replicated, due to them forbidding the Street Racing and Car Customization that are at the Core of that, Now Dying (as the Japanese Police Agency now have Stop and Seize on Sight orders from the Japanese Government to get rid of "Non Conforming" (customized) Cars), Car Culture. It is Implausible for the Horizon Festival, which is Noisy, Informal, Impolite, Promotes Lazing About (not being at Work or School), causing Trouble and Individuality and Non Conformity breaks Multiple Japanese Cultural and Societal Taboos meaning it would be Extremely Offensive to the Japanese, to be present in Japan unchanged, and changing it to suit the Japanese Culture (which is extremely Reserved, Formal and conservative) would leave it Extremely Formal, a Corporate Outing to the Noh Play, and an Exercise in Absolute Befuddlement and Exquisite Boredom as a result! Japan just has nothing going for it.

Depends on if Microsoft Forces them to use the absolute Spaghetti Code Technical Disaster of an Engine that is F-Tech, or if they just let them use the Old Forzatech M Engine, as, outdated as it is, at least it Works! and on if they force an even More Egregious Live Services/FOMO model on it or if they allow it to go back to a more Fair "Straight to Autoshow for Returning Cars, Paid DLC for New Cars" model like the first 2 Horizon Games. The Ball is in Microsoft's Hands.

@@simeonyves5940 it's just so sad that horizon 5 looks photo realistic and if you've seen the PC port of Motorsport 8 looks like a game from 2013. I have had complete texture loss and holes in the map even on a series x, uninstalled the new motorsport it's unplayable as is.

@@ethanmckibbin I have seen the footage of FM8, and yes, it looks like a Bad Xbox 360 Game, the Lighting is utterly Flat and the Textures are Simple and Cartoonish with very few Details, something has gone Terribly Wrong with the Light Rendering and the Texture Pipleline! Indeed, I can understand Hiccups on PC, given that, well, you put 100 PC's in a Room and you are going to have 100 Different Hardware Combinations, but, when a Game Engine is so hampered by Spaghetti Code that it can barely even Boot on Console (where all 100 will be the Exact same Hardware wise) then that engine is clearly a Technical Disaster! Turn 10 utterly Botched it! Its why I hope Microsoft have the Good Sense to either allow PGG to Develop FH6 on the Old Forzatech M Engine, as it works well and has some incredible Lighting and Textures available for it now, or, on Unreal Engine 5, which also works well and looks absolutely Mindblowing, as F-Tech is just absolutely Broken!

The only thing I think you're wrong on is the release date. I don't think they can wait till 2026, Horizon in general is marketed to a younger demographic than FM and the attention span for that age group is shorter than those that play SIM games like FM and GT. To stay relevant they'll have to release FH6 no later than 2025.

I would rather not see another Location with nothing going for it again, not after how awful FH5's Inexplicable choice of the Mexico setting has been!

Ive seen this all before, just like all pros and cons of this game. Nothing changes since Horizon 3. Location doesnt matter in the slightest if they do same thing all over again.

@@m4rcin847 Hmm, so the issue with Mexico in FH5 is perhaps more due to bad Map Design (being based around Battle Royale rather than Driving and Racing) and poor Portrayal owning to Mike Brown Malaise more than the Location itself? I can see that. The way you describe the Location does sound more...Horizon..than what we got! I do agree, they botched the City, I do accept that it could be because of the Limitations of the Aging, Xbox 360 Era, "Forzatech M" Game Engine used, as, to this Day, with all the Performance Patches, that system still lags like Mad In Surfers Paradise in FH3, and even Series X stutters here and there in that Location , so it is Possible that the Old Engine does not work very well with Modern Cities due to all the Vertices Data needed in the Skyscrapers to stop the old "3DFX Texture Swim" (Showing my age here!) from Rearing its Warped and Burry Head, but surely they could have given us something better than a maze of old Buildings and cobbled Streets that feels like it has been abandoned since 1963? Edinburgh still managed to feel very Modern due to the Trams, the odd modern Building, the Modern Traffic Lights and Road Markings, etc, Guanajuato just feels like a Segment from Abandoned Engineering, just nowhere near as Fascinating. I am not sure Burn Out is the Issue with FH5, I am in no way Burned out with the Horizon Formula, I think it needs to be Enhanced with the Return of some FH2 Elements such as the Road Trip and a lot more actual Car Culture (again, the European Road Trip being a major part of the more "high end" level of Car Culture) rather than just being Copy Pasted Direct from FH3, but it is a solid Core and I am not burned out. Yet FH5 leaves me Depressed! I think the Issue is the Map is just so Rusty and Dirty and Desolate and Dead and...abandoned...its just Depressing! PGG really did not Portray the Setting well at all!

We need a location where is also a winter season like in FH4. Parking your own cars in the garage would be great, never seen that in any game. And why not an option to invite others to look around like in GTA 5 online. Forza series has the same problem as RDR2, it would be nice to communicate with others via chat instead of ''hi'' ''lol'' ''haha''. To make the game look more alive there should be pedestrians walking around. Driver San Francisco did it back in 2011 so why shouldn't Forza be able to do that, they already have animals that can dodge the car anyway. I remember when I played Gran Turismo 2, it was a hard grind from the bottom to the top, to get all the cars you want. In Forza there's no progress, you can win big money or extremely valuable cars and sell em in auction house and buy almost any car you like right away. Auction car prices make no sense, some extremely rare and legendary cars are way too cheap and many regular cars are overpriced. I wish seller could choose the price range, without default starting price up to limited 20 mil.

The best indicator of future behavior is past behavior. In all likelihood, FH6 will be just like FH5 with a different map and all the shortfalls of its predecessor. T10 and PG are some of the laziest developers when it comes to innovating with their games and I see no reason why they'd suddenly course correct after so many years of this.

Sad but true. FH5 is a huge success commercially. That's all Microsoft as a publisher cares about. So why should they change anything? Anyway, I have learned my lessons from FH5 and will not pre-order part 6.

I think Horizon 6 isn't coming in 2024. They have increased the dev relelase cycle to 3 years. On top of that looking at FH4 still not being delisted its faire to say that FH5 WILL outlive it at least by an extra year. My prediction is mid 2025 at the earliest and thats overestimating it. Honestly i'm not really in a hurry for another horizon game. I'm skeptical how good will the game be but i'm willing to give them the time to work on it. Rather than just release yet another horizon copy.
