Well if you want to break Brady’s career into 3 separate HOF careers (beginning, middle, and end) Mahomes has already beat Toms first HOF career because he’s thrown for more yards, has just as many SB wins, has more individual accolades in terms of regular season MVPs and SB MVPs, and has never not made it to the AFC conference championship game. So he’s well on pace to absolutely destroy Brady’s career if he were to play as long and he’ll catch all the passing yards in much less time

On pace is not DOING IT. He still has to accomplish those things; they are not set in stone. Mahomes has the potential, but people think it will just happen. I want to see it happen before we put him on the same playing field as Brady. If it happens, I will acknowledge it. I said plenty of times in this video how great Mahomes is. Outside of winning the SB every year (which isn’t possible and will never happen) he’s literally doing everything. He’s first in every category has the highest winning percentage and even with a “bad” supporting cast won back to back SBs and has a real chance of 3-peating. I agree he’s not the GOAT now but he’s well deserving of being in the conversation because we’ve never seen a player like this in the NFL before (including Brady)

Just something that I feel that gets overlooked is Mahomes was in his first 3 years of starting when Brady beat him, and in that AFC Championship game Mahomes had the lead at the end of the game and Brady lucked out of a game dealing INT and was fortunate to get the ball first in OT. So I would argue Mahomes actually outplayed Brady that game. The SB loss of course Mahomes’ entire Oline was hurt and he was hitting receivers in the literal facemask and they were dropping the passes while he was parallel to the ground. So idk I feel like there needs to be context around those games as opposed to “Brady beat him head to head therefore…”. You know?

I get that he has a ways to go and to be clear I never argued that he was the goat yet I just think some of your points are taken from Brady’s point of view. Right now I have Brady then Montana then mahomes. I still think he needs 2 to 3 more rings for it to be a legit debate. The point I’m trying to make is don’t look at or compare mahomes right now to Brady’s whole career. Let’s look at Brady and mahomes as they were/are after 6 years as a starter. Mahomes leads Brady in literally everything. He has almost 100 more passing touchdowns in that span than Brady. And yes I realize that the league is more offensive but still 100 that’s a big amount over 6 years. He’s the best playoff qb we’ve ever seen. Look at his stats he’s literally first in everything. Not totals but like qbr average yards per game and so on. Mahomes is 3-0 in superbowls when down by ten. He’s 9-2 when down by 7. Brady is 10-11, which is still impressive. The rest of the league is like 2-58 or something. He won the superbowl when leading the league in drops, had an o lineman who was penalized more than any other player that year, had a negative turnover differential, didn’t have a 1,000 yard rusher or receiver. I could keep going.

Until about 2015, we weren't even sure if Brady was the best QB of his era. Payton Manning was only 1 ring behind, and had far better individual stats. You are ignoring some keys facts. Tom Brady NEVER won a ring without a top 10 defense. Mahomes has only one season when they were in the top 10. Mahomes worst season was losing in the AFCCG, Tom Brady completely missed the playoffs in his second season. Mahomes won more playoff games in his first season as a starter than the Chiefs franchise had won in the previous five decades. At the rate Mahomes is going he will tie Mahomes on playoff victories in 8 seasons, at which point Mahomes will only be 36. I do agree that Brady's career records are going to be tough to catch, but that is more about longevity than being the better QB. Mahomes peak is already more impressive, and he is still going up, you also are forgetting that in terms of career track, Brady was already 38 when he won ring number 4, just remember that if Mahomes wins this year, the discussion of best QB might already be over. If Mahomes never takes another snap, he is already the 2nd best QB ever, and that is after 6 years.

Obviously Brady has the longevity numbers but mahomes is the best to ever play the position. His impact on the game from the position is more influential than Brady. Mahomes played 6 games against Brady and they split them 3-3. Yes Brady won both playoff matches, however the argument that brady had better and more complete teams would be an easy argument, let alone if Dee Ford doesn't line up offside when Brady throws the game ending INT in the AFC title game. Mahomes goes and potentially beats the Rams as Brady did and Brady misses out on another ring. The Bucs team was so much more talented than people let on. That team went 7-9 with Winston throwing 30 INTs and loosing 5 of his 12 fumbles. If Winston doesn't have 2+ turnovers a game, who knows how many more wins that team would've had and how far in the postseason they would have gone. Even if the chiefs were completely healthy in the 2020 SB I would bet the Bucs win 6 or 7 out of 10 matches. That front 7 matched up so well against the O line of KC especially when the 2 starting tackles are out and only 1 player of the 5 lineman was at his original position. KC may not have scored a TD in the game but it doesn't change the fact Mahomes threw 2 TD passes but Tyreek Hill and Darrel Williams both dropped the passes hitting their hands and/or face while Mahomes scramble for 497 yards before either throwing or getting sacked while dealing with pressure 31-56 drop backs. A TB defense featuring Vita Vea, Suh, Shaq Barret, JPP, Devon White, and Lavonte David. The KC Def. was too small for that Bucs O line and specialty players in Gronk, Evans, Brown, and Fournette just ate up KC. All the postseason statistics in particular are going to be so skewed with only 1 team getting the bye and another game being played wild card weekend. Also, the reg. season stats with the additional game for the 17-game season. Brady's greatness is added due to his longevity, availability is the best ability for players, so his career stats are insane to comprehend, which is why per game stats should be compared initially. Or just take Brady's best 7-8 seasons and put those against Mahomes current career after the next season or 2.

Brady is obviously a great QB, but he was never the most talented.. he's the Goat because of his preparation, leadership, longevity, and the intangible Winnign X factor.
