You can get your Heir, who is a market liberal, in Charge of the Country and Gentry assembly 4 months into the game. - Wait until he comes of age (mid April after the start) - Fire all Generals and Admirals that are Gentry Assembly and have popularity 25 and above. - Make sure the Gentry Assembly have - 10 approval. The General fireing should be enough, otherwise start passing a law they dont like e.g Professional Army - Move the Gentry Assembly out of Government and let your ruler abdicate - Make your former heir and now ruler a general - Take the royal wedding inzeracion for your ruler and opt for the 25 popularity - Exile the leader of the Gentry Assembly And voilà ! Yoz can now pass Homesteading , Laissez-faire abd Free Trade! All within the first year.

Really, the big thing with the investment pool is that if you leave it with its default behaviour, it adds more complexity to the economic laws IMO (unless they changed that part in this patch) and really changes how you play different value systems.

He wouldn't like Laissez-faire so much if he didn't disable private construction 😂 I feel disabling it just takes away so much realism and flavor from the economic simulation. If you want to take back construction amount then get to command economy.

@@bigdog91paper Ah, yes, it adds "flavour" because the game doesn't take into account what resources you need, what you lack, what the shortages are or pretty much anything else when building those randomly across your nation. The real market and investors don't just build random shit all across the country. If we're talking about realism, it is much more realistic to let the human take care of it, as the real capitalists would.

@@siritio3553 Do you think that's exactly how it works irl as well? Shortages absolutely do affect what they choose, it's just perfect, but neither is the free market. Capitalists having their own industry being built is part of the fucking point of capitalism. I don't know why they even let you turn off the private build sector. New companies irl fail all the time, to act like every company or building that gets started irl is exactly what is needed is pretty stupid.

Companies fail all the time because real life is not a game. "Capitalists having their industry is the point of capitalism" Again, these are not capitalists. This is Victoria 3 building random shit across your country. Check the ingame triggers how little is considered before a factory is opened. "I don't know why they even let you turn off the private build sector. " Because even in a command economy one person does not decide where all the factories are build. Neither does anyone but the factory itself decide what kind of file cabinets they use. This is a game where you micromanage stuff to an unrealistic degree regardless of how you use your "investment pool".

Here is the cheese: on april 26 1836 the heir (market liberal) will be 18, so you will be able to get him as a leader of Gentry via these steps: 1) on April 26 1836 add intelligentsia to the government and start homesteading passing: you will get very angry gentry 2) pass two days till April 28 1836 so that anger will actually apply to the interest group, abdicate Nikolas, make Alexander commander of army, marry him, get +25 popularity 3) dismiss all gentry leaders in army and fleet which has more or equal amount popularity as Alexander 4) throw gentry out of the government - exile current gentry leader 5) the new leader will be Alexander (market liberal) 6) unpause the game 7)…. 8) PROFIT

There is no random here: if all of your military gentry leaders have less than 15 popularity - you will get random leader. But due to 25 popularity from marriage you will always get the tzar.

In EU4 I like playing Muscovy so much since i believe that it is the best start to practise with since it is possible to do amasingly but also have very hard enemies from start.

Wow, this video was very informative in terms of game mechanics. I didn't know a lot about the game. At the same time, I was minmaxing Russia and that's what I think: At first, I built 25 construction sectors, just buying tools and hardware abroad. Regarding politics, I fired Mikhail Vorontsov, who gave 20% of the power to the nobles and pumped out the maximum number of generals from the armed forces. If you don't want to mess with the laws, you can immediately put the homesteading after the police, remove the troops of the rebellious nobles and reset their influence to 0. It would be interesting to know the opinion of commentators and maybe even Ludi on this strategy :)

Hey Ludi. Just watched about half the video while visiting my parents in Ro :) I wanted to say that while unrealised taxes is annoying, building the gov admin for them alone is going to net you negative money, especially when most of the country is in serfom, land taxes and all that. Plus, the money from that is not collected at all, which means your pops have more money to keep up their SoL. Enjoying your content and hope my wallet won't be stolen before I leave from my visit :D

41:40 Actually, Paradox made a mistake with that event. The south of Bassarabia was given back to Moldova after the Crimeean War between 1853-1856 so that event firing in 1853 without that war is kind of weird.

24:00 default one all ways builds worst buildings to worst place and it destroys prosperty of companies. I remember deleting tons of building cause they just losing money and auto invesment builds it back.

For a real challenge, games like Vic, EU and CK need a random map generator. Our knowledge of planet Earth is too much of an exploit. For example, as Japan you know you need to colonize Brunei for the oil you will need later.

Dang. Russia is screwed today. You can’t exile a party leader when the party is in power “ the Tsar”. You also can’t have the Tsar step down anymore to get the market economists heir as the leader as well. Russia is just this big beast of backwardness. The orthodox party are backwards, the laws are insane, any civil wars against the landlords or religious groups are OP, and everything is slow. Holy moly it’s a tuff nation.
