Got one of these a couple of months ago with some of the upgraded specs and I love it... sporty when you want it to be and a lovely drive all round for daily use! Also to mention on the exhaust sound, the dynamic/sport mode does open the valves permanently so you get that louder sound all the time and you can configure it in the 'individual' drive select which is amazing if you like the sound but maybe don't want to constantly drive in that sportier mode! Loved the video and glad your dad is enjoying the car :)

Nice review. I’ve got the 2020 TTS after owning mk1, mk2 and mk3 standard TT’s. They’re a great sports car for the money. You wouldn’t get 0-60 in 3.5s from stage 1 and 300hp though. TTS is 310hp and 0-60 in 4.4s. DSG in dynamic mode tightens the shift up although standard 0.2s shift is pretty good and a great feature of the car.
@PassionForPetrolАй бұрын
Thank you! Oh fair enough, thought I saw a video where someone achieved that, my bad.
@whoknows3076Ай бұрын
It’s been proven the mk3 Audi TT 2.0 TSFI 227bhp with a stage 1 remap will get 310bhp and will do 0-60 in 3.9s making it faster than a stock TTS. Multiple videos on KZbin. Best one is officially gassed he actually proves it with a verified draggy.
@DP-rf8hhАй бұрын
@ fair play that’s impressive. I’ve seen a few vids on here getting massive gains on the TT hp with just a stage 1 remap, bringing it up to TTS power. Published 0-60 on the TTS is 4.4 secs though so I’m not sure the TT could do 3.9 secs with the same power surely? It half a sec quicker with the same power 🤷🏻♂️
@whoknows3076Ай бұрын
@@DP-rf8hh all I can say is go watch the videos… with two people in the car is was doing 4.2s 0-60 then when the driver went on his own he done 3.9s verified by the draggy box. It wasn’t just some downloaded phone app it was legit equipment.

Nice video mate, my mate had a mk3 TT which I drove a fair bit - it felt very well built and they do look great but thought the steering was pretty numb and overall a bit dull to drive but I guess thats relative to my 987

I know what you're saying, to be fair I don't have much to compare it to, but I thought the steering was super sharp, just could do with more power imo! (tune incoming).

In June I traded in my MK1 225 TT which I’d had for 20 years for a MK3 Ultra S Line (2015) I absolutely love my baby R8. It’s stunning looking, went for 2 wheel drive TDI as I wanted something cheaper to run as I also have a TDI golf and love the economy and torque. Diesel Power ❤️. I don’t drive it hard, I also have a sportsbike if I fancy abit of speed 👊✊👊

what colour spec? is the diesel noise loud? thinking about the ultra as commute is long but not sure if its as refined as the 2.0. are there dpf worries also?
@BL00MYB0Y2 ай бұрын
@ I got it in black, I love black cars and have a black fleet 😆I have a black TT, a black Golf and a black Triumph Daytona. It’s very quiet inside the car but outside it still sound like a regular diesel. It has a quiet little roar when you boot it which sounds nice. It’s quick and economical and has plenty of diesel torque (it’s also a 2.0L). DPF’s can depend on how it’s driven and looked after. Decent journeys are better for it over short start-stop trips. Thankfully it doesn’t have Adblue 🙏

I traded in my corolla for a 2021 TTS with Quattro and 277hp. It's also my dream car and absolutely love it, the 0-60 acceleration is 4.5second and is worth every damn cent. Due to the boosted performance (277 instead of 230ish) it must be run on 93 octane fuel. But the car is definitely a comfortable sports car to daily drive or an aggressive trackster when set to dynamic. I am daily driving this car for the next 100k miles, then I'll use it exclusively for the track, but that will probably will required better brakes

I'd just want a larger engine, without turbo and rear wheel drive based instead of front wheel drive based (haldex engaging time and proportion). Still keep my mk2 v6 automatic, love it - might upgrade for a better version. Another huge thing lacking: no ADAS / auto braking / lane centering.. - oh and a rasing suspensions would be awesome... I have the magnetic ride stiffener option (love it) but I'd like it to be able to have a lot extra clearance for light offroad use - it's my every day car and use it on 17 inch to keep comfortable ride aequate, 18 and 19 make it ubnoxious for me :)

Is the cabin noisy in the mk3? I've got a mk2 and if I don't have the radio on, the creaks, taps and squeaking sounds from different parts of the interior trim and dashboard drive me utterly insane. It's the only thing I dislike about my mk2
@bogged98202 ай бұрын
It's noisy in terms of road noise as the insulation was reduced to save on weight. Other than that it's better build quality than the mk2. Buy a car that has been well looked after and 1 maybe 2 previous owners tops.
