I was at a car show and saw a clean 2002 with the "respect your elders" sticker, the old guy driving it ended up stalling horribly. great looking cars

My first car was a 2002. Bought it for $500 back in 1996. Yes, it looked and drove like a $500 beater. That said, one of the few regrets I have in life was not buying a nicer version of it a few years later. Most of the examples today selling for $25k on BaT could have been had for $5k back in the mid to late 90s.

There will always be regrets about cars looking back, but just be glad you got to experience what you did. Still cool you had a 2002.

I drove one back in 1979 and was sold. It was the sportiest fun little sedan I had ever driven. I wanted one so badly, but could never afford it. It was my friend's... it was a 76 and she paid $6500. It proved to be too expensive for her, so she sold it about a year later... for $7300. Very few cars could be sold for profit like that. I drove another friend's 1980 320i. It was much more luxurious and fun, but not a blast like the 2002.

The Front and rear seats on this auto are not Stock, Possible BMW 325 Seats with covers ??.. The stock Solex carburetor has been replaced with 32/.36 Weber DGV. Carbs. Which was a popular Modification, along with a Smaller Momo Steering Wheel in the mid-'70s. BMW 2002 really Reveals Its ability on winding mountain roads, The Orange color Owners Manual came in the Dash Glove Compartment. The stock rearview Mirror was too small. exchanged mine from a BMW bAVARIAN Mirror, KUDO to MAX HOFFMAN who Brought us The Joy of Driving. And the BMWCCA CAR CLUB with their RONDEL magazine which was our Forum for our BIMMERS in those days.

Used to own one back in the '70s when I taught at the Institute of Design in flat Chicago. Drove it once all the way up to an isolated lake in Canada as well as the UP off the top of Wisconsin. Mine had round taillights. Such fun to drive! Carried two concrete blocks in the trunk to keep from swinging around and traction in the winter snow.
