@hamdanalharbi22068 жыл бұрын
Eatinbritches isn't the m10 a 1.7 liter ?
@Eatinbritches8 жыл бұрын
Hamdan Alharbi The M10 originally was a 1.5L, but it was designed to be easily enlarged. The 2002 actually started with the "New Class", the 1500, 1800 and 2000 sedans gave way to the 1600-2 (1602) two-door, which then became the 2002. The M10 was used in various sizes in these models for the life of that line, the first two digits of the model name designates engine displacement. It would later be used in base E21 and E30 models in 2.0L, fuel injected guise. The M10 would go on to be the basis of some incredible motors. The block became the basis for the S14 in the E30 M3, and they had previously built a competition 4 valve version called the M12... which powered Brabham F1 cars, boosted up as high as 1400 HP. The M10 family imo is one of the best engines ever built.

They are great little cars and I'd love to drive one someday soon. RCR, I want you guys to rereview the e30. Hell, even use mine as a review subject. It took me 40yr of driving used American cars before I FINALLY bought a BMW that I had to restore to be considered a "nice" car again. 90% of the time I'm not even driving a BMW and my driving habits were 100% honed on American car. So when I say I have NEVER seen more unwarranted hostile action taken when I'm in my BMW compared to when I'm driving my daily Ford I'm not lying. People purposely will cut me off,pull infront of me,brake check me and overall be the EXACT drivers People accuse BMW drivers of being. Jealousy is an ugly look for all u. If u have issue with people based on the car they drive,u need mind ur business and take a look in the mirror. What's it matter to u how other people drive? If u wanna it to be ur business then BECOME A COP. I bet ur someone who thinks it's "ok" to ride the passing lane with a whole line of traffic behind u cuz ur "already going 10mph over the limit"

@@waifuracer6516 Ok, I will admit that the modern ones (most of them, anyway, except for the low-end stuff like you said) are all very fun to drive, yes. Can't wipe the stupid grin off my face every time I drive it. This winter the engine gets rebuilt with higher compression pistons and a "performance" cam -- 150 HP in a 2300 pound car. That stupid grin will get even bigger. Thanks Mr. R for this video -- please come and drive mine sometime, I live in PA not far from you.... BTW, in PA, the insurance for "antique" cars is super cheap, as long as you don't drive more than 5,000 miles a year.

My dad has one of those. When we drove into a bmw dealership with it (who had parts in stock for it) we had a sales guy say “no, it’s older than that” to “it’s a 2002”

In 2h30 I'll have my first law exam, thus it would be more important that I'd check my notes but as a good law student I have my priorities straight, Regular Car Reviews it is.

The guy that owned the pawn shop in my hometown had one of these when I was growing up. I drove past the shop the other day on the way to visit my mom and saw it parked next to a newish 3 series and I couldn't believe how much better the 2002 looked. It's honestly sad how ugly modern bimmers are by comparison.

Michael Burke I can find exactly dozens listed for sale on just one site in just the Netherlands, so perhaps that's a bit of hyperbole. If you want one and have the money, you can own one.

Right now I can only find 3 in the UK, which is where I'm basing my comment on.

Why would an MGB feel like it was falling apart. Maybe you just drove a shitty one.
@DrewLSsix8 жыл бұрын
Kuddlesworth NA hahahahaha😂 you are obviously a fan boy, a fanboy and not an enthusiast that is, an wnthusiast KNOWS what the issues are with their cars and you are apparently ignorant. MGBs have a well earned reputation for being poorly assembled out of poor materials, the archetypal fantastic car/horrible piece of shit that defined the two sided coin of the sportscar mold.
@BobeBryant938 жыл бұрын
I thought you were going for a joke that Mr Regular was actually able to drive one and feel it fall apart instead of it already being apart
@FreeUpTheWeed8 жыл бұрын
They're known as less than reliable. On the other hand I see more Mgb's on the roads where I am than American/Italian/German cars from the same era! The ones around now are really well looked after, and presumably drive well. So yeah he probably drove a shitty one, or drove one a while ago. (factboy here)

Personally mine has never broken down. I drive mien regularly, service it ever 6000 miles, grease my points twice a year and check my oil all the time. They are very popular cars and they are very old. I think just because there are lots of them still they tend to get a bad wrap. In terms of reliability an MGB will be more reliable then a BMW simply because it's a simpler car. Less stuff to go wrong and it's not exactly under much strain. The gear box isn't under any stress and neither is the engine. As long as you loob it up and maintain everything the engine should never die. The engine burns oil and mine especially did. I took a trip around Scotland and it burned about an engine full of oil doing it. Still ran perfect though and I just kept topping it up. The rear drum breaks get dirty though and need cleaning nearly every service.
