That's a great deal! - update. I took your advice and purchased a 72. I love it!! Thank you.

I had a 66 back in 1970, it had the 170 cubic inch six cylinder with front and rear oil pumps, it took eight quarts of oil. It had three on the tree with high/low range transfer case. We did a lot of four wheeling in mud and snow up here in northern Minn. I put 750/16 bar lug Good Year tires on it. When the going got tough in clay or deep snow i put chains on all four. It had two inchs more clearance then a 3/4 ton Ford. I've owned a 59 3/4 ton 4x4 IH, 59 1/2 ton 4x4 GMC, 67 4x4 Jeep Wagoner, 70 1/2 ton 4x4 Chevy, 76 1/2 ton 4x4 Ford, 76 3/4 ton 4x4 Chevy, 68 4x4 IH Scout, 78 4x4 3/4 ton Ford, 93 1/2 ton 4x4 Ford, 05 4x4 Ford Escape, of all of these the Bronco was my favorite.

I had a 1980 Jeep CJ5 that got caught in a rain storm with the top down. The foot wells had about 8 inches of water in them, but there are plastic drain plugs. I pulled them and it drained and there was no damage done. You can get one in nice condition for about $15,000.

Alex, nice review and that $22.5K really shows in the fantastic paint job. Clearly that truck was disassembled before painting. You know, these were made to compete with the International Scout which is really similar in size, features and design but the Scout came out several years earlier. I'll be curious to see your view count on this one as it's quite a departure from what you've done previously. Great video as always. - Chris

A restored Jeep Cj is typically around 10-20k, but a Bronco is typically 30-40k I'm in Canada so prices are a bit off...that being said it's basically double the price despite being exactly the same with regarding to the restoration work that I've seen for a good rest with basically a new motor and repaired/repainted body.

Anthony Krieger: I couldn't stand it personally. What happens if they get into some mud, or choose to drive in any kind of incliment weather? I guess it's like taking the doors off your Jeep, since you get more connected to the outside. I get that, but at least they can put their doors back on.

Yeah - I learned how to drive a stick on one of these and I learned by watching this video that I've been doing it wrong all these years. Apparently you just move the shifter up and down - no pushing it forward or pulling it back in the center to go to 2nd, 3rd or reverse ...
@marvinkatko69823 жыл бұрын
At the beginning of the video, when he's standing in front of it, I'm thinking 'that's not a Bronco, it's an International Scout' because the body looked too, it's hard to describe this but, "vertically fat" and I was really confounded until he mentioned that the front windshield had be chopped a few inches. I would've never imagined that that would change the look of the vehicle so dramatically. That being said, I just think it's insane to chop a bronco windshield. The biggest design flaw with the Bronco is the super low front glass. I'm not extraordinarily tall (6'0"/183cm) but I sit in the driver's seat and right at eye level I'm looking at the metal part above the glass.
@andrewdriver33183 жыл бұрын
The scout has a much sleeker front end and a more rounded body. Also, chopping a bronco is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. The guy must be 5’4.
@karag65566 жыл бұрын
Not to be mean but if your going to drive one everyday and not looking at buying to invest why not just wait and buy a new one for that price? It will be more comfortable, be faster, get better mpg, have way more features, and probably look really nice, plus warranty and 0 miles. Considering you say it's $20-$40k for a used old one.... sure the new ones won't be a classic but whatever lol.
@calvinpeck91586 жыл бұрын
I predict the early bronco (1966-1977) will continue to rocket in price due to the release of the "totally rad new bronco." Due to safety requirements, emissions requirements, and modern fabrication methods I expect the new Bronco is going to look like a big plastic pile of crap blending into the mall parking lot like every other soccer mom SUV. The release upon which people will say "that doesn't look like a Bronco..." Then I will drive by and they will say "THAT'S a Bronco! Want!!!" My plan was to wait and see what Ford had to offer for 2020 then realized I was just leaving myself one of the herd. Now I own a 69.
@karag65566 жыл бұрын
I want the new one to stand out and look like a bronco, I respect old cars but lets be honest not many people want to put up with daily drives in a rattle trap, with sloppy suspension etc that is an old vehicle like the 1966-1977 bronco. Just want the new one to look like it while getting over double the horsepower and getting more mpg while sitting in a comfortable cabin with more thought out practicality all around.
@calvinpeck91586 жыл бұрын
I'd be into that. I just don't think Ford is going to deliver on that one. When I read the engineers were discussing "removable panels" in place of a fully removable roof was when I made the decision to get the classic. Those removable panels on the new hummers....oh wait...I mean the large Jeeps....show me all I need to see about them.

Ummm ... show me ONE car from earlier than the mid to late 1990's that has "more than one lighter". Newer vehicles have a socket that's referred to as a "power point" these days - I think you're confusing your statement with ash trays. There used to be 8 ashtrays in some cars and trucks - never more than one lighter.
