Hey man, I just came from your bmw m5 f10 review video. Went down the rabbit hole on your channel and started looking at your other reviews; lo and behold, you’re reviewing another car I own! You’re definitely right about this car being an “experience” car. It’s by no means a fast car compared to todays vehicles, but bring this baby on a back road and you’ll have a blast! The truth is, most people, including myself, don’t have the skill to drive this car at 10/10s of its capabilities. But drive this car in a spirited manner, and it will put a smile on your face. The fact that these cars are going up in price, when I got mine for $13k used with 35k miles back in 2010 makes me want to keep it in the garage forever. Honda outdid themselves with this car.

AP1 handling is perfectly fine - for skilled drivers. Designed to affect steering with throttle inputs, it's too bad clumsy drivers got into trouble and blamed the car. Trunk can fit a standard golf bag; what more do you need?

The S2000 isn't quick by today's standards, but from a driving perspective it's still incredibly involving. This car is best enjoyed top-down on a twisty backroad. Those who enjoy crooked roads while revving the snot out of an engine and shifting constantly using one of the best gearboxes ever made will find plenty to like. The S2000 is not a GT, but a pure sports car and an older one at that - you enjoy it for what it is (and isn't). Those whose focus is on straight line performance, or want more of a casual driving experience, or more creature comforts, or the latest tech, best look elsewhere.

Hey Dude, I got a 2002 AP-1 now! In 2020 I changed a beautiful 2014 S3 Convertible for a GT86 and the driving pleasure just blew my mind even though the Toyota was slower! So having loved the RWD of GT86 exactly a year ago I changed it for a 2021 M240i fully loaded Convertible, big mistake! It was heavy not as nimble and incredibly juicy! So I sold it summer gone. Then I got the itch in autumn and found a gorgeous 107k mile AP-1 with good service, had it checked out by a mechanic friend and I litterally stole it from the guy!!!! It's an incredible piece of engineering, I will keep it as prices continue to climb and summer is round the corner here in UK. I have got an Aygo as my daily but I have a brand new GR Sport Yaris Cross on order. I don't know if you have either of these in California! P.s. are you Persian?!

I have the same AP1, but i put on the AP2 front bumper, CR lip and Wing, took off the CAT and put on the K&N intake..its BAD ASS!! Also, i disagree about the car's speed. When im rockin close to 70MPH in 2nd gear at 9K that car is moving, and it is wicked fast. If you are comparing it to Ferarri or other really fast car then yeah but i smoke a lot of WRX, etc constantly. The car is def fast..oh and to compare the S2K to a Miata in any way other than being a convertible top is outrageous. The S2K dominates all Miata's all day

It’s probably faster than a 20 year old wrx but no way is it faster than a new wrx sti

I have a track ready S2000, but let's be real. It is not dominating any modern day Miata. It all boils down to the driver. Those new modern day MX-5's run similar times stock vs the S2000. Being much newer and at a similar price point, it might be a better alternative to some people.

If you are going to do a "review" of such and iconic car, you probably should have filmed on an open canyon road where you could have sustained higher revs and speed while hitting some twisties. Redlining from one stop sign to the next defeats the purpose of this car.

Don’t you think a 2021 Porsche GTS 4.0 would be more fun even with a lower 7800 redline than the AP1?

Not sure i haven't driven one but I have driven the GT4 and the 4L is unbelievable.

You could just turbo or super charge the S2K

Dump the clutch at 5,000. Speed shift at 9,000. Car will be faster.

Thats because its so awesome! I have other top BMW M cars and also other Hondas. Of all my cars ever owned the S2K is the top of the top. None other even come close. Smoothest and most joyous transmission ever!!

Epitome? Well, I own and plan to drive the wheels off an '07 S2K. But then, I've never driven a Mclaren Senna so I can't say for sure the S2K is the epitome of driving fun.

Not for nothing, but this guy is taking an s2000 around a neighborhood and making his assessment based on a few seconds of revving this engine. Not representative of what the car is like on a proper road.

You got the drive shaft under the elbow pad, how would you make a storage box? I own the 2002. Its perfect this way. You dont end up with kind of stuff around

I understand the public loves this car but I’m just not a big fan of the body style- Very bland to me. I also don’t like the lack of torque off the line. I drove a Pontiac solstice 2.4 L and it felt so much nicer in terms of the visceral feeling. You sit low in the car- the rear is high and the front is low like a race car

Maybe. But the S2K is one of those cars that actually live up to the hype, which is why so many people love it.
