Mine was the double cab TD27, yes it was a diesel because i'm from Mauritius. Bought new from the dealer in 1996. It was rwd only. If i have one advice to give you Toby take good care of it.

I was a Nissan service manager when these trucks were new. I personally drove them for 22 years, I had a bunch of them all the way from 1971 (when they were Datsun) all the way up to 1996 , the D22 moniker was the model that you referred to at the dealer when purchasing parts, the hardbody name was used in advertising. Over the years I owned models 521,620, 720 and D21 , about 30 of them, and most with over 100 k miles, also owned a few brand new, I went to Jeep after that in 1997 , I have a wrangler and a gladiator, my next truck is going to be another Nissan, loved your video , great looking truck.

Hey man! great vid! I used to own a 1997 Nissan Hardbody 4X4, it was the 2.4L KA24E engine with the 5 speepd manual, she was my first truck that i got when i was 16. I bought her with 87,000 miles on it. I took care of her like it was my kid. Just like you i also put a matchbox on the dash! Sadly, i moved back to Switzerland and had to sell it. Now that i'm back in Switzerland, i got myself a 2010 Nissan NP300, crew cab, 2.5L YD25DDTI engine, 5 speed manual, and many more. Even my new NP300 is a 2010, there is still a lot of the same parts from my 1997 Hardbody. your truck is really really clean, love what you've done with the bed cover and the bumper. i'd love to share some photos of my 1997 truck with ya, or anyone who wants to see!

I have a ‘92 that I bought in 2000. It was from n. Carolina so it’s still very clean and it’s stored in the winter. 129k on the odo, se model black, at, v6, engine compartment very clean also. Although it’s a se it has manual locks and windows but ac and no sunroof, wish it did but I love the truck. My brother bought one in ‘89 brand new regular cab, man trans, 2wd no rear bumper lol, he paid 5 or 6k for it. Man how times have changed. By the way this was a very good video, very well done. Take care of your truck, it’s a nice find!

I really like your truck, a very rare one these days. My son has a 1990 Pathfinder that I handed down to him years ago. It has the same engine model as yours. 1990 was the first year Nissan released the 4-door version. It is not an SUV, but a truck. The Pathfinder and the Hardbody trucks of that era have a heavy-duty frame. The 90' Pathfinder has a total weight of 5,000 pounds which is the weight of a full size 4X4 of today (approx. 4,950 pounds) I imagine that your truck weight is in the same neighborhood in weight that my son's PF is. The owner of a body shop once mentioned to me that if he were to be in a collision, he would hope to be in an old Pathfinder like ours than any other passenger vehicle. Just subscribed to your channel. I run between 25 - 30 fish tanks at any given time of various freshwater species.

That's a good looking SE. Mine's an XE-V6, same year. Not as pretty externally as yours, but she still runs and doesn't have any rust cancer. Those switches on the center armrest were options for the Pathfinder, since they were essentially the same vehicle with a different body on the frame. One was for heated seats, another was for rear defrost or wipers I believe. There was a third option that I don't recall, I think foglights or something similar.

My dad had this truck(1990) in white in the late 90s to early 2000s. I loved that truck and called it the white monster because it was a bit rusty. I drove it in high school and took it deer hunting off road. Road tripped to New York from Ohio. Got a kiss from a girl i had a crush on. Lots of memories. Died ar 330k miles. It liked to blow tie rods. The radio wasn't great but worked but you didn't need much when you were listening to Dire Straits on cassette. The jump seats were nice in a pinch, we even had four of us in there which was me and two teenage brothers and our dad, drive two and half hours on a small road trip. The engine sound really takes me back. The tires also sucked but it did okay in the snow when you went out, locked the hubs manually, and switched to 4 low. My dad was also a part time fire and ems guy so when the sirens went off, my dad literally peeled out and id hear him red line until out of ear shot and me being a hugh school kid, was running it hot all the time doing fish tails. We hauled rocks, mulch, rototillers, camping gear, everything. No issue. Had a really high suspension too. The seats WERE verh comfortable. If you're looking at this truck and seeing if it sucks, it doesn't. Its awesome and after my kids are gone, will get this truck. You'll just love this truck.

All 3 of my Nissan Pickup have been great dependable trucks 04 360.000- Miles traded it in for the Wife's Wrangler. What a Mistake that was 2 years later she traded the Jeep in on a 22 Frontier. My Gen 2 2013 Just went over 200.000 miles Other than consumables I had to replace the Fan clutch at 187.000 miles. That's it. Nissan Trucks are basic dependable Lower costing Trucks. I will keep my Gen 2 until the wheels fall off. Nothing like not having a vehicle payment. While still driving a truck you have confidence that it's not gonna leave you stranded. Your old Hardbody is one of the Nicest I have seen in a very long time. She's a keeper for life.

Wow, the red ones always look so good. Yours is no exception. My 1993 SE-V6 4x4 is silver. Question: Does yours still have the original mirror on the passenger side sun visor? Mine is missing. I haven't been able to find any pictures of the original online. If I could find a photo, then maybe I could design one for 3D printing. But it seems like they're missing from most trucks. I guess they were prone to breaking and getting lost.
