The problem is this shouldn't be more expensive than a M340i. If it's going to be more expensive the performance should be more on par.
@josephquinto58122 жыл бұрын
It’s not. A similarly optioned M340i will be $75k.

Here 2019 m340i with almost 60 000km cost 78 000e. Got one of these 2020 S60 T8 PS for 58 000e and with only 12 000km. Also it has way more equipment than that m340i. I love music and B&W of the Volvo are just amazing compared to the 3-series Harman Kardon. New m340i here starts at 84 000e without any proper equipment. If you want some equipment and winter pack it will cost over 100 000e. Yep, 100 000e. Here all hybrids are low tax so you get S60 T8 PS even as new fully kitted for 75 000e. S60 is like 25 000e cheaper in many Nordic countries with high tax rates. I mean Mercedes Benz E450 starts at 110 000e without any equipment. Used BMW 840 from 2019 cost 110-130 000e... You do the math why this Volvo is a tempting pack. I get that this is highly expensive in countries with low tax rates but here in Finland this is actually cheaper than a kitted Mercedes Benz C200 if you buy them new :D Also this have kept value really nice. 2020 Mercedes Benz C300 e with 30 000km is like 40 000e. As new it cost almost 70 000e similar to S60 T8 PS. Merc has lost over 30 000e in couple of years when S60 lost only 13-15k.

@@L1ven I would totally be on board but I live in America. It’s the inverse here. I think the max tax credit is 7k. Even with that, the BMW moderately equipped undercuts the price of the Polstar. We aren’t there yet in terms of pricing. 🤷🏿♂️

Depends on the deals. Right now in the Czech Republic, an S60 is cheaper to lease than a 2 series
@helmet2611Ай бұрын
In Norway the m340i and m340d goes for nok900,000+ but the S60 t8 Polestar goes for less than nok500,000 so it's substantially cheaper for similar performance

Nice job explaining everything. I appreciate your likes and dislikes. Definitely agree about the nice body styling on this sedan and agreed it looks good in white with the black trim.

The car protects itself against drivers that wants to push it beyond it performance envelope. Examples: Redline is not max power, so do not go there. Gear shifter: my view; normal auto gear shifters gives a lack of orientation in what position it is, as all is within one motion. By using a kind of sequencial touch, it provides more feedback on the actual gear position. This is especially interesting as european drivers have been using manual gears for a long time and many need to adapt. Nice video.

it is made for Nordic countries with high tax rates and low tax rates on hybrids. M340i without any equipment cost 84 000e here. In other countries you could get it for 60-80 000e. S60 T8 PS fully kitted 75 000e. M3 starts at 140 000e here... In Nordic countries M3 starts way over 100 000e when S60 T8 PS is like 60-75 000e max.

It has character on paper, the way it drives is pretty dull. As a performance sedan, it lacks excitement and doesn't offer a particularly tactile experience. The speed limiter and terrible transmission are particularly unforgiveable in this category.

Why does everyone want every car to be a BMW? Just get a BMW if that's what you want. Volvo is more sensible, more reliable, more durable, safer, more elegant, and more comfortable, with adequate performance.
