On a serious note, this was really validating to watch. This is where I’m at & where I’ve always been. I don’t get to do a lot with my peers, who wonder why I’m acting like a “granny” & don’t wanna get gussied up to clubs or brunch or whatever despite being 25. I’m comfortable at home lol. It makes finding friends hard, but knowing you have friends who accept that you’re just not a partying gal gives me hope.

Im the introvert who didn't know she was an introvert. I would get invited, I would go but I wasnt dancing and I wasnt socializing. I damn near didnt want to be there, but did🤔. Very confused. I was and felt out of place. My place was in the house. Thats were I was comfortable. Not the club and not around a group of people that I dont know, not comfortable around but am expected to socialize with that probably think Im weird cause im "quiet" but Im really just an observant Pisces🤷🏾‍♀️. That was in my 20s. In my 30s, I can now identify why I felt and feel those feelings. Im not boring. Im not stiff. I'm just NOT comfortable. Im not grumpy, its just been several hrs and my social battery is now depleted, I want to be out of my clothes in my own company breathing my own air. Im now the introvert that while im out, while my battery is charged, you would swear I was a total extrovert holding conversation with serveral people at once. Im the introvert that now knows being an introvert is not about where you spend your active time BUT where you refuel yourself. I now know im gonna need to mentally prepare for certain things. So Im no longer confused "I do like to be around people and go outside, but theres a limit and when that limit is up I want to re-energize by MYSELF". Those are my boundaries and I wont apologize for them.

Wow! I relate to what you said about being looked at weird by people because you’re too quiet for them. I got tired of hearing “omg you’re so quiet. Why aren’t you talking?” as a child/teenager. Now as an adult I love having the power of who I want to be around and when I want to socialize. If I’m in any social setting please believe Im too busy observing everything that the talkative folk would never notice! Kudos to the introverts that don’t need validation. Our silence is golden 😂😊

It was "well Im gonna go cause I dont want them to think Im boring. Cause thats my friend" when only 10% of me wanted to be there. Im so much more emotionally secure in my 30s. Im not going. Great to see you, EJ. My friends knew that if I came to an event, at some point I would be in the corner with a book. More than six people trying to interact with me at the same time is toooooo much. I also try not to be the designated driver because I can pull up when I want. My wardrobe is functional not stylish - I can rock cargo pants which for some reason is not party wear. My idea of a great evening is being on the couch with a big cup of tea in my jammies doing recipe research on Obama's intranets or splitting my time knitting, crocheting or painting.

This is me all day (except the no drinking part). I’ve found a great way to compromise with the not going out thing; I tell them I’m good for breakfast, brunch or lunch. I’m a morning person but if it’s after 6pm, I better be in the house with my ugly clothes and no company. Brunch, breakfast or lunch is the perfect compromise because you don’t have to be overly dressed up for any of them and you still get to hang with your friends and you’re guaranteed some food. Don’t invite me to the club, but definitely invite me for breakfast the following day.

I don't due any substances also, never felt I needed them. I prefer to be alone, simply because my idea of fun is the Museum. My mind also is on building things. I am constantly going over what I need to build in my backyard to add joy to my family and myself.

I don't usually comment but I can seriously relate to some of this!🤣 I say no. I love sleep and start yawning early. I'm usually the designated driver because I don't trust many people driving me. I love my couch and prefer my animals over people most days. I can't wear high heels very long any more..... the list goes on! Don’t worry EJ, just wait until the kids are grown. Right in between the kids are out of the house and no grandkids yet, you are going to Live your Best Life! Now I don’t didn’t go clubbing now, but once a month there’s a live music show on the last Sunday in the month 😂 and it’s for grown folks. So me and my husband would go to that along with all the local politicians in Tallahassee. Then I discovered Groupon and I went to Paris France and London England. This past May I went on my 8th Cruise. And once a year we plan a family trip with my kids, my grandkids, nieces and nephews, my brother and we go to a different place every year and rent a vacation rental house and see all the sights and eat all the food. The energy is different when the kids have jobs, cars, and their own houses where they raise their kids and Nans (me) takes the grandkids to the movie when their grades are good

I am absolutely like you. BUT I traded my party friends for my old lady friends a long time ago - that’s why I never get invited to parties or events. 😂😂😂 My friends now do the most domestic bs & I still say “no” because my wardrobe is trash, I’m socially awkward, & I leave early. Lol😂
