PRS Custom 24 has got to be one of the most versatile guitars, if not the most. Especially considering their coil split option, they do a phenomenal job it actually sounds like a single coil guitar when the tone knob is pulled.

No hate for the Strat from me....I own 5 of them. HOWEVER.....my #1 guitar currently is my Gibson SG Standard. I have the two humbuckers and they will offer the normal SG/LP sounds in the neck and bridge positions and also they both go out of phase in the middle position at full volume (which is nice!). I love the 24 & 3/4 scale length on the SG, the really fat humbucking sound, the nibbed frets, the neck shape, the light weight construction, the body contours, the upper register access, the control layout (I have never accidently turned down the volume on an SG!), and lets not forget the ICONIC Devil's horns!!!!!!! It is such a beautiful and great playing guitar!!!! I would mention tuning stability but most of my strats hold tune very well and my SG (and my Les Pauls) do as well.....it is mostly in the set-up. Great video, thanks Eddie!!! =)

@@michealgraham6836 that's why I got the ZENY. I knew it "looked" like a Strat, and I could barely hold it when it first came, so.... Now when I learn a song I learn by sound and learn note for note playing single string note not chords . This enabled the world of soloing at my will. By learning where every note on the neck is single string method by learning songs kept my interest and now I play lead acoustic side to along hotel California. It still takes time but when u learn u learn . Chords are easy to learn but lead was impossible. Not anymore so thanks so much . I am now taking my singjng and overall music to new levels .. .......Thanks so much. Just awsome . With that and using your scale lessons everything has just progressed like a bad habit . Do u or can u teach me violin, I play most other instruments. But this has illuded me

Right on Eddie. A strat plus with a hotter red lace sensor in the bridge was my only band guitar for 10 years. I use all 5 positions, but the middle pickup is my favorite. I have since begun to appreciate PRS guitars, but the Modern Eagle V is the only one I have that covers that many sounds, and in most of the PRS I keep the neck humbucker coil split to a single coil like a strat. Recently bought a G&L S-500 which is a pretty phenomenal strat as well, Leo would approve, being the "L" of course.
@jmangi62213 жыл бұрын
Ha,I picked the strat before I watched the video. The only difference is mine would be a HSS configuration, instead of the traditional SSS. The HSS will play everything from metal to rock to blues to jazz to country,etc. Great minds think alike hehehe.😉

Fact: A socket wrench will work as a hammer better than a hammer works as a socket wrench. Also, if a string breaks above the nut, the knot you use to tie it back is a sheet bend.
@caldrail3 жыл бұрын
I get the point. I have more strats than any other kind of guitar, but I have to stress that I modify them to get a guitar I want to play, and since my stay on a desert island would involve playing music I like as opposed to music I wouldn't ordinarily play, versatility isn't necessary. My Jackson Kelly is still my favourite.

If I react to the question in the email, if I were allowed only one guitar, it wouldn't be a SSS Strat, sorry. Doesn't matter how versatile a guitar is if it doesn't fulfill what one wants from it. My choice for "only one guitar allowed" would be a HSH RG with a Floyd, a Tremol-No for the option of temporary hardtail/dive bomb only and an EVH D-Tuna for easy drop tuning. But this is just my choice.

I have quite few guitars all different all have their niche, tried many many fenders with mixed opinion, own a jaguar love it for some stuff, own an LP and would never part with it, 3 weeks ago bought a cheap strat copy by Westwood, now maybe its had a change of pick ups (was owned by a semi pro apparently) but wow, put new strings on it, set the intonation and action and am blow away by this guitar! versatile oh yeh it cost me £40 I own guitars in the several hundred to over £2k and will ever part with this cheapy! never turn your nose up at a bargain occasionally it will surprise you and although its a copy I would put this guitar up against any genuine one and it would not be embarrassed. There is no Strat that is anywhere near as versatile as a semi hollow body. Choose your tool but mine would an ES 335 but if you choose a Gretsch ( not the 3/4 hollow body) or a Guild, an Epiphone Casino, I don't care. They can sound as solid as any solid body, just as bluesy as any guitar of your choice and yet go soft, jazzy even emulate a nice acoustic sound. You can even play it with no amp at all and it sounds decent and can be heard. Strat is a fine guitar and I am SG guy but no gd way does any solid body hold up to a semi hollow. So sorry. I am very much looking forward to a response from you if you read this stuff.
