I am lucky in that my local Volkswagen dealer has an outstanding service department. I have been taking my Volkswagens to them for scheduled maintenance for the past 13 years. I know that I pay more at the dealer, but I get techs who know Volkswagens better than anyone else because that is all that they work on. In addition, since it is a Volkswagen dealer, I get exactly the right parts for my car. My experience has been that Volkswagens are wonderful cars if you maintain them.

I like the Jetta. Here in Europe, VW sold ugly SUV Stuff only, so feel proud that you Americans can buy a nice timeless Sedan with a lot of heritage. And he is reliable and cheap.

I like my Jetta. But I bought it super cheap from my mom, like basically given to me. The 2024 is still the mk.7 I think. Anyways, it's awesome as a commuter. But I had a 2003 Lexus GS 300, with real leather seats and wayyy more power. I really miss my old 2003 Lexus. It was like floating on the road.

I loved my 2017 Jetta SE with a manual transmission but recently I rented a 2023 Jetta Sport with an automatic transmission and was very disappointed.

Looks like my 2020. Was a good car but the dealership charged too much to change the battery so I sold it back to them

There's one issue with the Jetta, and with VW in general: reliability! I like the Jetta but knowing of issues that could pop up with any VW purchase there's always the fact that the automaker has a poor record for reliability. The 2 year free Maintenance Program is a step in the right direction, but I'm still leery. That's unfortunate for anyone willing to pull the trigger, so to speak, in purchasing the Jetta or any VW vehicle.

What are the known issues that would stop you from buying one. Everyone brings up reliability but give examples.

@@Mauricio_PI’ve had a 2014 Jetta 1.8t for about 3 years. I can name a ton of electronics issues.power seats, infotainment, and faulty sensors. But the sound system, handling, interior simplicity, and just all around good looking car for cheap def getting a 24.

@@Mauricio_Pplus mechanically car was beast tbh. I put it through a lot and still held through and was able to sell half of what I bought it for. Only big issue was that it ate oil like crazy

Honda's persistent availability/mark-up issues with the Si sent me to VW for a 40th GLI - despite the reliability concerns.

Just got one , and I can tell you I’ll never buy 4 cylinder again. Shaking and loud. That turbo is way too much for that 1.5 liter. The gas mileage is good but not as it advertised. Mine just got over 1000 miles still being careful w it. Just wondering how long it gonna last. 😂

2024 SE 1.5T. A little under 25000. I have a v6 3 liter Mercedes too. Old car, but much smoother then the brand new Jetta.
