That might not even be a mistake - there is a video of everbloom first boss high key where pally tank also bubbles with the bubble-taunt talent and it just doesnt work and dps gets killed... might be similar.

This goes deeper. Paladin tank has a trait that makes bubble aoe taunt in a 15 yard range. He was knocked out of range by the bear and pressed it. So the taunt didn't reach.

Paladin tank here. If you're gonna bubble that you just need to drop the bubble before the charge even starts and also have the boss right next to the wall. That tank did neither.

Yeah, I was gonna make this exact point, and of having your back close to a wall. Yes the adds spawned close by but you would know that ability is about to happen and you only have to move slightly to avoid that till the charge is over, so yeah, bad play by the paladin, and even worse play to then leave.

Frick I love this game. It's the little things and the players who play it that make it for me. This reminds me so much of my AD where I thought I got stuck on a bush. If you notice when he presses it, it's after the hit goes out, and he lands following the knockback. Probably he landed in a spot where his camera angle showed absolutely nothing, so he assumed he wouldn't be able to dodge the hit, and pressed bubble to not die.

It’s human. The tank knew that he messed up. So when the screaming started he thought it was a matter of seconds before they would dig into him. So he left to spare himself the experience. I kinda agree with the thinking. Toxicity seldom stops once started. They weren’t going to reach the last boss on a good note.

It's very selfish behavior though. They aren't even wiping here. To leave here like that is inexcusable especially given the mistake he made. I think he legit doesn't realize he made that mistake though.

Bubble is a strategy on that boss as its saves space. Never bugged out for me but i never used it last minute because its lasts long enough to use it before the knock. On the 3rd boss though bubble bugs out all the time so you have to taunt in the last 2 seconds of his grip.

i think a lot of people assume you cant avoid it, or panic when ever it goes off and press stuff. had a dk not long ago drop to 2% every time it went off. whats its base damage? 800k or something? then upped by 300% or something mad?

The bubble taunt bugs out in that dungeon. Happened to med with the 2nd boss, luckily taunted back. The small adds were not taunted as well (primary reason I used the taunt)

I actually did the same thing in a +16 when I was equipping my pally. You don't even really think about it at first, because there's the aoe taunt build into the bubble, but obviously it doesn't have any effect since you're too far away...

I'm assuming that the pally has bubble taunt spec on. I think the issue is alot of pally dont know there is a range. I personally have done that before. You want to use bubble just as he's about to hit you or just before the knockback. It's a good defensive if done right. But saying that there is a bug w/ the ability that sometimes mobs ignores bubble taunt

I am not sure about that tbh, simply because how he replies to the taunt question. But ya, he clearly doesn't hit it with the range on the spell. I just am not convinced he has the talent, or even knows it taunts haha

The bubble taunt talent, which I always use it just in case of moments like this, has been acting weird for me lately - not sure if it’s a bug or just people bursting for aggro loss but I’ve had issues this season with it

Sadly the talent is known to be buggy. So even if you have the talent you can end up completely lose aggro no matter how close you were when you used the talent, even if you taunted afterwards.

Yeah 😭😭 happened to me in Everbloom… I pulled all the flowers with the first boss and I popped bubble when stacks were high because of the boss breath as well. Usually I use bof. But this time I said, yeah who cares… well the group did 😂😂 the boss completely lost aggro and started oneshotting people lol. I didn’t taunt straight away because I was more on the 😨😨😨 what’s happening? Phase… like a deer in the middle of the street at night

Wait, with the talent “final stand” I think it’s called, when you bubble, you taunt every mob within a 15 yard range? Perhaps he wasn’t using that talent? I sent you a key, you probably have lots in your email to sift through but it’s a good one regarding low keys and players not understanding mechanics. It was a +10 fall. This key is so hostile to protection paladin. I remember just not entering this key during the first handful of Tyrannical weeks because the tree boss was virtually impossible to tank when the Grip pulled you out of Concecration.

You can out range the breath attack which makes the tree boss a lot easier. May take a try or two to get the timings, use Divine steed as the timer hits zero. By the time the boss casts breath you are out of range. Gives you a lot more defensive to manage the grips.

The fight is fine now, the problem was that you could not be in Concecration during his grip, no matter what you did. They fixed that and the key is not a problem.@@Solusk_Shaman

True, though it's based in a similar issue (prot paladin abilities being bugged). Final Stand is a core part of Prot Paladin mitigation and a notoriously buggy ability.@@heythereguysitsMetro

Paladin got pushed over a root on the ground and the boss pathed around the root, but because charge is a straight path it went off into melee. The root on the ground forced the charge into a weird angle and people blamed everything on other random stuff that didn't matter.

@@heythereguysitsMetro I mean that might be a misplay but the ground effect is what caused the boss to turn and have weird pathing. Those ground effects on the sides should be avoided at all costs. (The benches, rocks, roots and other ground effects)

@@stevenharper7118 Hmm I would say you are massively over thinking this. The boss will always charge the tank now, even if they are LOS. You used to just LOS it back in Legion, so they fixed that by adding a brown frontal eruption line as well. Furthermore, the boss never actually moves a step after the knockback. The reason it charges there, is because those people have threat, due to the Paladin Bubble. I'm sure what you described COULD happen, but the obvious solution is likely the answer here, especially considering how the boss would have to turn over 45 degrees to accomplish this.

@@heythereguysitsMetro that's not what's happening, it's not los it's a pathing issue. I've had the boss do this to me with a warrior tank who leaped in the same area. Unfortunately I don't record my runs or I would share. The boss literally just doesn't know how to charge over certain ground effects usually the roots or benches though.

I wish it was easier to be able to pin point mistakes in this game, but I’m not really sure how Blizzard could convey information better. Like it would be cool to see some message like “boss aggro was not on the tank” or something just so it’s not a guess. I think a lot of pugs have people who get made at what they think happened but it’s really not always clear.

The tank realized it was his fuck up, didn't want to admit his mistake and stayed quiet while everyone else points fingers at eachother and then just silently leaves cause he doesn't wanna wait till people figure it out and begin flaming him. Like the boss was near dead and they could have easily killed it and just ress the rest and continue, but I feel like he got so shook he just left and rigged the key. A dick move nonetheless. 😅

Either doesn't have the talent or it's another bullshit "stand on a pebble so you're z axis .01 pixels above the mob and everything loses agro" situation. There are a lot of spots for that this season. I always bubble one of those charges since the cd of bubble is so short and never have any issues on that boss. People saying he was out of range, I'm not really sure, I think it just bugged out. Either way, bubbling AFTER the first hit is stupid since the whole point is to keep the boss from moving for melee. There is a spot by the flowers in DHT that does it, if you're super far back on first boss of EB it can bug out there as well. There are a few more I can't remember atm

I think he bubbled out of the 15 yard range. Also, I've set myself a rule now to just leave once any toxicity starts, it's not worth trying to talk some idiot down most of the time and I know it's fairly despicable but I spent the longest time putting up with other peoples abuse if it wasn't their key, JUST to finish it for the key host. Cannot be bothered with it anymore. Tired of watching DPS pop their defensives AFTER they've already taken damage or their self heals when it's like a single mob that tapped them, then they have nothing left for a proper pull afterwards, tired of seeing things free cast while 3 kicks are still up and ready to be used or stops, or psychic screams. Ugh, This problem has only gotten worse as I've gone into 24~25. Like how? I thought people were getting better by that key level but honestly it's been much worse. Sorry bit ranty, maybe I'll do some submissions oneday soon as well. Thanks for the vid anyway m8 always interesting to see the woes everyone suffers through

i guess the tanks leaves because he donest want to play with rude talkers. totally understandable. in pug so much is random because people just play, dont talk abouzt any strategy and then 3 people kick the same cast the same time and then next cast kills one or more people. not a fail of one specific player but the blaming instantly starts. people should blame themselves for not talking about kicks/cc before the run starts.

if he'd bubbled right before primal rampage, then he would have taunted the boss and didnt get knockbacked and the talent would apply. In that case he got primal rampaged back in the woods, then bubbled and wasnt in range for the talent to taunt nearby enemies

Regardless of how the pallys mechanics work, this shows your everyday typical behaviour of mythic keys in retail. So many people leave after one wipe cause it costs them nothing to ditch, it’s not their key. The lack of patience in retail is so sad.

Its really bad for sure. Worst its ever been, and only getting worse. But if you are attempting to say that Classic, or even other games, don't have this problem, you are very wrong. This is a symptom of a culture of gaming that is led by entitlement and carrying, and you see it everywhere your eyes will take you. The difference here is Blizzard created a system that essentially encourages it, and that needs to change. Hopefully the season 4 stuff will lead us to more positive results on that front.

This is one of the shit bosses. There isn't any proper visual indication of what happening, where and why. It's just a UX mess like so many bosses in this game. You having to rewatch it many times shows how bad it is. Also it's very bad design that you can max out your vault by doing 18s which are in fact fairly easy. Higher keys make no sense whatsoever except for collecting pointless RIO score while suffering more and more :D
