If your PS portal won't connect to the PS5, then follow these 5 steps to fix it! Users are reporting that the PlayStation Portal won't connect to PS5. If you experience this problem, you should first try restarting both the PS Portal and the PlayStation 5. Next, try switching the Portal to Airplane mode temporarily. If that doesn't work, try resetting your WiFi router, or using a wired connection on PS5. No, only standard V-Sync at a max of 60 FPS is supported via Remote Play on any device, regardless if it’s PS Portal or otherwise

I have been going through dozens of videos and none is addressing my issue. My portal connects with no issue from home. Outside of hone t takes like a good 20 minutes with multiple attempts until it connects. Once it connects it is stable and good but every single time I try to connect it can take dozens of times trying and trying again. Any solutions for that?

An additional way is to disable remote play from ps5 settings and then re-enable remote play from the ps5 settings.

My Portal never works on a different wifi than the one my PS5 is connected to. So basically I can only play it sitting right next to my PS5. What is the use? My home has 3 floors and 2 separate Wifi connections across all the floors. So basically I cannot use the portal even on a different floor in the same house

@ijustdontgiveadamn Okay then, your home has a lot of material (brick, cement, home in bad tower area etc.) that interferes with wifi reception/connection. That's the only other factor...it's either that or you're lying about having 500mbps 🤷🏼‍♂️ And quite honestly, although 500Mbps is adequate enough, you probably would do better with flat out 5g plan. That's the problem.

I have my Ps hard wired and get 400+ download and then at work I have over 500+ Down and still won’t work but will work on remote play app on my iPhone. The ps portal is trash and I regret buying it, I was checking best buy everyday multiple times waiting for it to come in and I regret getting it, you’re better off getting an iPad and just playing with a controller via Bluetooth

Here is what everyone doesn't know. It works outside of your house but only if you buy a travel mini router, The way it works is that your travel router first connects to any open wifi, then once it does you go into your router control panel settings and change the SSID name to the exact same SSID your ps5 is connected to. in your home. BOOM!!! You're now connected anywhere you want to be. I'm a nerd when it comes to internet connections, LOL!!!

@@Thewoodersguy because Ethernet and WiFi is different. Using an Ethernet cable you are not using an SSID name hence you’re connecting through a lan connection. It needs to be connected through WiFi in order for the ps portal or the the ps remote play app to work

It IS remote play. It's a device dedicated to ps5 remote play. It replicates the PS5 controller including the force trigger things, has a really nice screen and a simple setup procedure. It's all in one with a single battery for everything. People's experience seems to vary wildly but I've found it great. I can understand why people wanted Sony so release something different, and it's definitely not for everyone, but the hate on here from some just makes them look silly.

I really love my portal I just hate Sonys streaming system. Xbox’s streaming is smooth never have an issue don’t even need WiFi just LTE no lag. Even in the same room I get bad reception with Sonys
