This is one of my favourite Beatles songs of all time, honestly it’s beautiful. The fact that Paul wrote it while waiting for John to wake up is extremely funny to me, it’s no secret that John was quite ‘lazy’. John wrote ‘I’m Only Sleeping’, which is also on the Revolver album, in response to Paul trying to wake him up to write songs. Which I find hilarious, John is my spirit animal in this instance. Just let it be, Paul! He’s only sleeping! Let him sleep! 😂

R & R: Rubber Soul & Revolver. The two Beatles albums I listen to the most. It's the melody itself that's the "hook"--just beautiful, you never forget it. Taking a simple song & giving it a full, lush feel through vocal harmonies & subtle instrumentation.🎶👏

I was very suprised to learn that the "Revolver" album has sold a mere 600,000 copies in the UK. Very disappointing for a 55-year-old classic! Worldwide sales are not that great, making "Revolver" among The Beatles lowest sellers. I guess a great number of Beatles fans are not that enamored with the album.

Paul wrote this for the greatest love of his life, actress Jane Asher! He is still writing love songs for her. Song For No One is about Jane dumping him in 1968 after a 5 year romance. They were engaged till Jane came home early from an acting gig & found Paul in their bed with another woman. He has never gotten over Jane & even has a section of his 1963~1964 Eyes of the Storm photo exhibit devoted to Jane Asher!. 😢

Teez, you can start off with Taxman and let this album play out to the end with Tomorrow Never Knows, it's incredible. Their next Lp, Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band is widely regarded as the greatest Lp in History. Many others, including myself, feel that Revolver is the greatest of all time. John and George started taking LSD shortly before this record and it's evident here. This record is just so damn quirky, it's all over the place. The last song, Lennon's Tomorrow Never Knows is him telling you this boat 🚢 is on acid now and doing a 180 and sailing in a whole new directions, the song is so out there. Please do many more from this one. I would suggest a few but I'd end up suggesting like at least 11 out of the 14 songs on it. The album is that good.

Paul actually wasn’t my favorite as a teen, it was John. Once I started studying music and playing piano and bass guitar in bands in college is when Paul became my favorite. They wrote the most beautiful loves songs. There's one off the Abbey Road album called "Something", written and sung by George that was called THE most beautiful love song ever written and sung. If you'd like to try some real trippy, energetic stuff off the same Revolver album you've done here, do John Lennon's "Tomorrow Never Knows" which may be the very first psychedelic song created at the time. ✌️😎
@danielvolk2373 жыл бұрын
I like this song 100 better than Something and as far as Tomorrow never knows. It never did much for me or my hippie friends. We used to skip over the last song. Ruined a good record. Just another opinion. We thought John's heroin and LSD influenced songs were pure crap. As I said in a previous comment. Art Garfunkel said this was the most beautiful song ever written and I agree 100 per cent. So that is two of us. Never heard that about Something, only thing I heard was Frank Sinatra, who said it was the best Lennon/ McCartney song. Just shows that Ol' blue eyes was not quite as hip as he thought.🤪
