Matthew R... Then the final scene when Wilma&Betty did their version of Burger On A Bun and they got to the grind grind grind grind grind part and Fred&Barney closed their eyes and grimaced from embarrassment...Because let's face it was in reality it was an embarrassing advertisement jingle that's why Wilma and Betty chose a REAL restaurant with people..😆😆😆😆 NO WONDER THEY FELT SMALL.

@KY Stars Well you have to remember it was a different era back then in the 1960s that was as close to adult as you were going to get for an animated cartoon series. Today here in 2022 with shows like Family Guy, American Dad, The Simpsons, Rick and Morty, it's a lot more racier today with foul language and bathroom humor back in the 1960s it was only suggested hinting, I don't know if you were aware but the episode following The Flinstone episode following The Drive In The Prowler has been taken off the rotation when The Flintstones are shown on television because of Mr Rocky Moto's character (Wilma&Betty Judo instructor) as offisive to the Asian community.

Flintstones Version: Boomerang from Cartoon Network, It's all YABBA DABBA COMING BACK TO YOU!
@bill992083 ай бұрын
The original Flintstones was in no way made for kids. It was an animated version of Jackie Gleason’s “The Honey Mooners.” In fact, Jackie Gleason nearly sued Hanna and Barbera for stealing his basic plot, but friends talked him out of it. Alice was in every way like Wilma. Barney had a few of Norton’s mannerisms but I think he was drawn into many of Fred’s crazy ideas. But that’s what has kept the Flintstones running for all these years, just beautiful animated comedy. The original Honeymooners only lasted for roughly 32 episodes, whereas The Flintstones went for six seasons. Season six was the most hit-and-miss season. Still, the Flintstones was the best series that H-B did, although The Jetsons came closer than most of the other series to matching the Flintstones magic with the premise of being cast in the future.

Over the Run of the SHow, there was plenty of Adult Humour, but the Kids rarely, if ever caught it. Rocky and Bullwinkle was another Adult Cartoon...

The Drive In episode was the only episode of the Flintstones in my opinion, that was poorly thought through when they wrote it. I was 5 when I saw this episode for the first time, and was stumped at why was it so important for both Fred and Barny getting their old jobs back. The only bad part was lying to their wives, but other than that, they both wanted to be their own bosses, their business was successful, and only reason they lost money was because their wives made them resell the business. Other than the cute catchy tune, this episode was pretty messed up.
@almcdaniel10352 жыл бұрын
Maybe , if when they got this idea to reopen the drive -in , they had told Wilma and Betty ,the four of them could have made it work .. Fred had a habit of doing things and trying to keep Wilma from finding out ..When these girls starting calling in..about the old drive -in and showing up at their doorsteps about the job ..that was the end .. Fred knew this might go wrong . for them Lol 😂 😂😂😂

sirxanthor- Remember near the beginning of the episode where Fred told Barney that we men have brains seems as if their wives were a little bit smarter because they would have explained to them that the restaurant business is a highly competitive business even today. It might of work and maybe if they're lucky they'll be successful but there are other entrepreneurs out there that may even serve better food and if they put your business out of business you're dead financially that's probably what Wilma and Betty would have tried to explain to them which is why the boys didn't want to tell them. They were afraid of getting discouraged.

@@roberthenderson6247 I at some point, started watching some of the show again, to see if I could find another favorite, where pebbles and bam bam start singing when the sun shines in, and discovered both Fred and Barney working out of that restaurant, as if they never sold it. Makes me wonder, if that one episode was supposed to cross several episodes, but instead got used for other content.
@eduardo_corrochio Жыл бұрын
You may be over thinking it. But for you this was the worst one of the whole series? Interesting. I am partial to season 1 so I can't relate; it's got my favorite episodes overall. Some of the later ones in seasons 5 and 6 were so lame and not worthwhile. And then for a stretch they went on a jag of doing parodies of other TV shows and movies of the time, be it westerns or monster movies or The Beverly Hillbillies or James Bond. The quality went downhill after season one, for animation and storylines, at least for me. Really, now that I think of it, the biggest mistake was bringing babies into it. A baby adds nothing good comedically-- to any sitcom.

When the Flintstones were originally made, it was for adults only, not children. Like how Family guy and Rick and Morty are not for children today. As standards changed over the years, they removed the cigarette smoking, and re-tagged the show a children's show. It's funny how many cartoons our kids rewatch today, were originally adult television shows.

Holy moly, it's true. My jaw dropped a little, LOL. That should have been a big lawsuit right there in 1991. It's the same melody, the first several (13?) notes. Why didn't my brain "click" on that? Too funny. This stuff happens a lot, though, without the writer purposely copying. He or she believes that a new and original thing has been made, when it was in the brain from something in the past that already existed. But it's still using someone else's work. I believe it was an issue when George Harrison did his tune My Sweet Lord. The writers and producers of the Motown song He's So Fine jumped on him for it. He had to pay them.
