Exactly but Hale Bop from 1997 was breathtaking especially for us from the northern hemisphere.

I heard it wont be easy to see from the Northern hemisphere... I'll wait to see your take at the end of the video...
@Travelandshield7 күн бұрын
You're right. The conditions for observation from the Northern Hemisphere will be poor; however, if the comet is very bright, it will still be clearly visible even at a low position on the horizon.

Unfortunaely it won't survive the sungrazing, scientists predict that it will fragment.
@Travelandshield8 күн бұрын
We will find out soon. However, if this comet does not break apart during its passage through the perihelion, we would have an extraordinary chance to see two bright comets within a single month.

Whether it breaks up or not, I was lucky enough to do two night sessions with Comet A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS. I'll be posting some of my photos today.

Sungrazers have high rate of failure on an orbit of the sun and few actually make it. Would be awesome but probably not.. we’ll see

You're in luck, as NW Pennsylvania is a much better place for stargazing than the East Coast. I saw my first comet, Halley's Comet, in 1986. While it wasn’t as bright as Comet A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS, it was definitely a historic one.

@PafMedic I watched Halley's Comet through my first refractor telescope. As far as I remember, there was no long tail, only a big coma around the nucleus.

I call it the Cheech and Chong Comet... or the Sunset comet. Found it with my naked eye and a Samsung phone camera.

You're lucky! I'm in the Northern Hemisphere, so I’ll have to wait a while before I can see the comet.

We found it again tonight. It was noticeably higher in the sky. Almost alarmingly.

You mean the comet C/2024 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS), but I wonder if the next comet, C/2024 S1 (ATLAS), which is coming to perihelion in two weeks, will be as spectacular as the first one.
