I'm obsessed with Hoboken. I was browsing the W hotels website in 2011 and saw W Hoboken and noticed its close proximity to all of the NYC attractions so decided to pay it a visit. There are so many places to eat, a beautiful view of the NYC skyline and there isn't nearly as much congestion as the city. It and Portland, Maine are my two favorite cities.

Hey Jon! Im visiting the city and spent the last 4 nights in Weehawken, right next to Hoboken. It seems to have a great vibe quite similar to that of Hoboken. It too has a lot of Italian influences. In fact, we at dinner at an Italian place last night. The hospitality was incredible and they had a personalized and signed drawing for Sinatra hanging above our table. Overall we really enjoyed the area. The hotel was right on the waterfront by the Port Imperial Ferry Terminal and provided stunning views. Oh by the way, I took my wife to see China Town for the first time. We tried Fried Dumpling and the Deluxe Green Bo. We loved both, so thanks for the heads up!

7:13 - whoah, that beer's expensive! In Germany, this would equal about 3-4 beers of that size. In Ukraine, it would be 8 beers. We Europeans tend to think that both Scandinavia and Switzerland are the most-expensive places on Earth, but certainly the U.S. it is. I'd love to return to the U.S., but actually the fact that everything is AT LEAST twice as expensive (in most cases, it's 3-4 times as!) stops me at the moment. :-(

Also didn't check out Biancamano's on 11th and Washington for the best sandwiches and fresh mozzarella...plus Frank Sinatra didn't care about Hoboken. I lived there from 1979 all the way up until 2007. Hoboken is too expensive to live in now. And the friendly, family orirlented atmosphere of Old Hoboken is gone...now it's filled with Yuppies, out of towners, and strangers
