Rode the 2nd Avenue El ro see the city; Names I remember: Weitzmann's Deli, Ratner's on Delancey, Pageant Tea Garden, Levy's, Yonah Shimmel's, Egg Cremes and Lime Rickey; Howard Clothes, Thom McAn, pickles on Essex St. along with the market, Seward Park, Educational Alliance, Loewe's Canal and Delancey and the Delancey and Palestine Movies, Sunshine Movie on Houston, Roosevelt park from Houston to Canal, Fred Bunz at Bowery, wholesale buying on Orchard, pushcart guy selling corn in summer and sweet potatoes in winter for 2-5 cents, All the Italian food you'd want on Mott and Mulberry St; Ferrara's and La Bella Ferrara for pastry.

Used to live off Christie street a block off Houston behind the Whole Foods right there. I liked the area. I was walking distance from Chinatown where I got my dumplings from vanessas, walking distance from little Italy where I had to get farraras bakery almost every day, the crepery, mr purple rooftop bar, and Emilio ballatos (best Italian I ever had). Can’t forget Russ and daughters too...Nice little area Cept for mid October of 2018 a dude got slashed in the face in broad daylight in front my apt.
