I remember as a child, listening to the gospel singing jubilee on the TV while getting ready for church!!! and the Lewis family, the florida boys, the happy goodmans and so many more; my memory fails me to remember the rest, but they, no less, were stellar!!!

I have the wonderful privilege of being friends with one of the last surviving member of the Florida Boys from that era. Tommy Atwood, he’s still living and praising God every day. Known the family for over 35 years and love each and every one of them. Love to sit and talk with him about those days when gospel music could be heard everywhere. I was raised on the jubilee every Sunday morning and still cherish those memories

I can remember back years ago when our town had what was then Dale Shelnut day. Always followed by a singing that night on the football field. I can remember very well listening to The Inspirations, the Florida boys and the Dixie Echoes. Some of the best gospel singing there ever was ! I sure miss those days, and going to the singing with my mom, who we lost back in 98. Love listening to these older groups.

Not much on the "he was not a REAL Bass" kind of talk for anybody. They were all in sincere operation for Christ our Lord and while it's fun to point out our favorite and why, when you start taking "tone" like that you completely lose the Spirit in which every one of these bass singers sang.

May I share this with you, if you don't mind? The Bible says in Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast. I hope you already know God for yourself, but if you don't know Him you can know Him today. Jesus suffered, bled and died to pay for your sins and mine, out of love for us! Salvation is in faith, but one must first realize that they are a lost sinner and will die and burn in hell for all eternity without Christ. Once we see ourselves, all one needs to do is repent of their sins, and put their faith in God: believe with all their heart that He will forgive every sin. And ask Him to save their soul from hell with all faith and all sincerity! Believe in God and He will save you today. If you have never gone to God and repented of your sins and put your faith in Him, now is the time my friend.
