The first time I watched Hereditary, I didn’t really pay attention. At least until Charlie hit the post. I was shaken. It’s hard for me to pay attention to any movie, but this GOT me. So I made my daughter (19 at the time) sit through it too. Like me, she was shaken. Very little shakes her. For a while I really couldn’t put my finger on why it was scary for me. Movies don’t even creep me out very often. But a KZbin video really drove it home. This is a movie about generational abuse. When I told my kid, she looked at me and said “oh my god. That’s it exactly”. I think that people who have lived through any kind of generational abuse have this movie hit them in a different way. Think about this movie a lot. It truly was amazing.

Like many others, I’m *_ALSO_* watching your [revised] ‘Hereditary' review again, because [a] it’s brilliant, & [b] to express my rage towards the *EXPLETIVE DELETED* idiots at KZbin! As I commented on the original upload, my rescue dog Trilby repeatedly cocked his head to one side, with a quizzical & confused expression on his face, every time you featured that *"CLOC"* 'tic' from Charlie, due to it sounding practically indistinguishable from the 'clicker' device we use for positive reinforcement training. I was curious to see if _'THAT'_ noise - sparingly scattered at random points throughout your review - would trigger the same reaction from him a second time around, & it actually did! [BTW, he wasn’t at all distressed by the sound; rather, he was somewhat ecstatic during the whole experience, as I kept rewarding his attention with some tasty training treats!] Anyway, Trilby *_STILL_* rates this movie as *5 BONES:* 🦴🦴🦴🦴🦴...mainly - if I’m being honest - just because it provided him with an additional opportunity to scoff extra food!!! He *_REALLY_* wasn’t appreciative of the more tangible creative qualities - the script, direction, performances, visual design, etc - evident in this movie!

Finally you're back. Right now my father is out drinking while pretending to not drink anymore and potentially exposing my mum to a disease that could kill her only because he couldn't drink at home to not expose him a fucking addict like I am. We have at least 3 generations of alcoholics/ addictive personality people and yet I AM THE ASSHOLE BECAUSE I LITERALLY ALMOST STARVED TO DEATH at 65 lbs at 5.1 and 16 y.o. that's a BMI of ~11.6 -12 . And yet I have been forced into psych wards and therapy and ended up a morphine addict due to my ex exposing me to a whole other world i would had never havd access to if i never met him.. and yet I'm the only one that's " damaged" Hell fucking no ! And my poor mum is the only one suffering from both me and him and I can't even get her to stay with me because I live in the most populated area... My life is so fucked up. This has to stop .

the only think that affected me in this movie was like the beheading you saw happening. The rest, was kind of meh. It was just too slow. i watched it with another person and she, basically zooned out and watched the phone more then this movie.. i don´t even think i really cared about any of the character as such even..
